I guess it's a matter of taste. I think Oblivion is the only RPG I've played that has scaling levels and I think it's horrible. There just doesn't seem to be any point in leveling up.

You N'wah

Seriously though, what are the major differences between Morrowind & Oblivion? I fucking cum on Morrowind every time I play it, so will I automatically fall in love with Oblivion?

I dont know the major differences really, I just know that I didnt get the urge to snap the disc in half and quit 14 hours in with Oblivion. I guess the main thing is just basically the combat, sure its just one thing, but when something is such an importent part of a game and its clunky and stupid, well my friend, you have yourself a bad game (my opinion, so whatever) Oblivion fixes all problems and is a fun game with endless amounts of things to do, Im 60 hours into now and I still havent even done the first main quest yet.

it's the scaling level thing that keeps me from buying one of them new consoles and Oblivion along with it... Final Fantasy VIII had scaling levels too.. in FF8 u could boost your stats without actually levelling up, thus getting more powerful than your enemies. So in time u could slay some of the earlier monsters in one blow

a question regarding Oblivion: When u fight a weak monster in the beginning of the game, let's say it takes 3 blows to finish them of... does it takes 3 blows to kill them once you're at a high level too, then?.. or does the improved weapons etc.

anywho.. i always like that about RPG, that you got killed if you strolled to far off

I played Oblivion at a friend's house, and it was pretty awesome. If I ever get a 360, Oblivion will be the first game I get.

But my brother bought Morrowind once, and it was pretty terrible. I went to a dungeon that I was supposed to go to in a full suit of armor with weapons and everything, and I was killed by this naked dude with a dagger. How gay is that?

So I've gone ahead and done it....I set up my account in World of Warcraft yesterday. May god save me.

Humorously enough, the realm I randomly picked was "Misha". :dio:

I restarted Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts last week. FFX I had to restart because I screwed up when building my characters the last time I played (accidentally making Tidus a Level 3 Mage, etc). And Kingdom Hearts I stopped playing a while back because I lost track of the storyline due to a long period of inactivity with it.

I hope it gets a lot better than it is right now. I don't really know what the hell I'm doing, where to go, how to better my character, or anything else of significance. I guess I should spend a few days reading the instruction novel that came with the game.

Question!!: I'm really new to gaming on my compuer (mainly cause I have a mac and...well you know the rest) and I was wondering: what is an acceptable FPS rate? I find mine drops as low as 2 FPS sometimes.

Just do the quests, they'll always point you in the right direction :P

Anyway, an acceptable FPS for me would be around 10-20 because I'm used to having a horrible computer. 60-80 FPS is pretty much considered optimal, anything higher than that doesn't make a difference, depending on the monitor of course.

Anyway, you don't need that high of an FPS for a game like WoW, it's more important for shooters and games where you have to react fast. Although there must be something wrong if it drops to 2 FPS :P

Would I have to buy something to improve it? Or just get a new computer?

New state-of-the-art laptop inbound, 2.8 gHz in total, geforce 8600, 4048 ram. Have bought Company of Heroes, Dark Crusade and Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault in advance.

I really wouldn't know, I've never had a Mac. If all the graphics in the game are displaying correctly the only thing you'd have to upgrade would be the RAM. Atleast on a PC. I went from 10 FPS to 40 FPS in WoW by upgrading my RAM from 256 to 512.

I just finished Halo 2 on "heroic" setting. Good game and a great story. Now I can't wait to see what happens in Halo 3. I just hate thinking that I have to buy an entirely new Xbox 360 to play the game. Damn. Well now it's back to attempt Halo 2 on "Legendary"

I decided to take a break from Castlevania : Curse Of Darkness which actually got better as i advanced more into the game, and started playing God Of War, wow that game is awesome its like Devil May Cry meets Soul Reever but with greek mithology lots of blood and boobs, Kratos is one of the best leading characters in any game ive ever played.

I also got Resident Evil : Code Veronica X, for 3 bucks i know is old but ive never played it and for that price i said what the hell lets give it a try.

Good game, but a few of the bosses are frustrating. Well worth $3 though.

Advance wars is really cool but can get insanely hard sometimes. really addictive, though.

Someday, I'm going to write a tribute to the Nintendo 64, since I really don't think it gets enough credit. Yeah, the PSX was a better system overall. But the N64 still had a lot of excellent and revolutionary games that you really couldn't find on any other system. Mario 64, Goldeneye 007, Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie, Rogue Squadron/Battle For Naboo, Rocket: Robot On Wheels, etc. I think nowadays a lot of people really tend to underappreciate the system because of how much more popular the PSX turned out to be (pre-release hype for the N64 aside), as well as Nintendo's struggle with the GameCube (which is also a grossly underrated system IMO). But it really deserves a lot more praise and credit than it's been getting in recent years. Afterall, if it wasn't for the N64, multiplayer gaming wouldn't have become as big a phenomenom as it is now. Nor would 3D gaming have developed/evolved the way it has.
