i don't have a credit card, and i don't want to ask my uncle to use his because he won't STFU (he's a nice guy, he just can't STFU, so i ask as little as i can from him).

anyway, the Appendixes in Dune only show the setting for the story, right? can i read it before starting the book proper?

Affirmative.

Steal your uncle's card.

picked up Mario Puzo's "The Last Don" from my uncle, i doubt it'll be as good as The Godfather, but it should be good.

30 pages in, though, and it looks a bit like The Godfather with different names :x

Just finished The Master and Margarita. I don't know how I feel about it. It was good but it was jumbled.

I'll be starting Crash by JG Ballard and Seven Theories of Human Nature by Leslie Stevenson next.

Crash was a disappointment.

It's actually a entertaining read. Say what you want about his music, but he's an intelligent guy.

For the past two days, Shadow of the Wind was an excellent page turner. At times, it seemed like a soap opera but it was still great.

I just got the Children of Men novel in the mail and I guess I'll read that next. I don't really know what to expect from it but I loved the movie so lets hope it's good.

yeah, the romance bits in Shadow kinda suck. ok, they completely suck. just about everything else is great though, especially that Fermin guy.

The romance was fine just the incest was too much but it made sense.

@Heavy Metal and You: Is that honestly geared towards teenage girls? If so, I feel gay for reading it. My friend found it at the library and I just read it for fun last summer. It wasn't a bad read but short and had too much teenage, coming-of-age bits. The main character also liked too many crappy bands (Slipknot, Green Day) and not enough good bands (Sepultura, Deicide). The Deicide concert was an odd chapter now that I think about it. The description of the mosh pit was fun though.

..ahahahhahaha

I think it's geared towards the female persuasion. I found it with all the other teenage girl-type books, anyway... aha.

I'm not done yet, but it's decent enough.

actually i was ok with that, i meant the way Daniel gets some action with Bea just like that, and maybe it's just me but i think a written sex scene just comes off as completely awekward.
