yeah, the romance bits in Shadow kinda suck. ok, they completely suck. just about everything else is great though, especially that Fermin guy.
The romance was fine just the incest was too much but it made sense.

[size=5]actually i was ok with that, i meant the way Daniel gets some action with Bea just like that[/], and maybe it's just me but i think a written sex scene just comes off as completely awekward.
In a non perverted way, written sex scenes can be rather poetic which was what Shadow of the wind tried to do. Now Doctorow, Irvine Welsh or Palahniuk sex scenes are just smutty.

Reading the Hobbit for the third time.

Definitely is overrated, and they sing way too damn much sometimes, but I dig it.

How's the new Hally Pottel, noodres?

The Children of Men book was a lot different than the movie. I enjoyed the movie a lot more. The books ending was rather lack luster.

Just started Galapagos by Vonnegut.

The last two chapters of the Manson autobiography were awesome.

Now I'm starting Gravity's Rainbow over.

If you can read it in English, why not just order from the states? Oh well.

Re-read: George RR Martin- A Clash of Kings

It's basically all action. I like it although the number of "zomg close call"s is over 9000.

umm at the end of book 6, draco used expelliarmus on dumbledore, which means that draco was actually the one who defeated him... so instead of the wands ownership going dumbledore-->snape-->voldermort (because dumbledore let snape kill him), it went dumbledore-->draco-->harry

Actually, trust me, I've spent a month trying to make sense of it and it just doesn't- Harry never defeated Draco- he just grabbed a wand out of his hand that wasn't the elder wand (even though it stated earlier in the book that you actually had to capture the actual elder wand to become its master). So basically, it was all just a bunch of convoluted shit to make Harry defeat Voldemort. Kind of sucked balls.

another thought on HP7:
what about Harry's kids? Ginny lost a brother in that battle thing, and he names his kids after his mum, dad and headmaster/potions teacher? what a prick

In The Evil Day by Peter Temple. Not enough action and the dialogue's a bit confusing, the way it skips about.
