War: Ok movie but Jet Li and Jason Statham should have more hand to hand combat scenes, that was the point of going to see the movie in the first place and it lacked kick ass martial art scenes.

I really want to see that, and if these words you say are true then we are all preliminary stu for the black widow.

Pauley Shore is Dead

"We are sorry for airing 48 hours of Pauley Shore, so to make it up to you we will get Metallica to play in each and every one of your backyards."

Ben Stiller: "Don't fuckin' touch me Pauley. Where's my damn money?"

Goya's Ghosts - Not bad, despite Natalie Portman

The Toolbox Murders - Boring, then mildly creepy for about three minutes, then silly.

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly - This movie basically owns. Probably the best action movie I've seen, now to watch the other wo from the Dollars Trilogy.

28 Weeks Later - I liked this a lot, partially because I forgot that main characters actually die in zombie movies :P

 I'll remember this the next time you want a favour.

Final Cut - Robin Williams is a great actor. Pity film was less good.

Mastodon: The Workhorse Chronicles

Very dense. I felt surprisingly drained after listening to roughly 2 1/2 hours of Mastodon.

Have you watched the Converge - The long road home dvd? So intense it chokes you.

Saw Halloween last night. Although it doesn't compare to the original, it is tremendously better than all of the sequels combined and probably Rob's best movie yet. Not to mention one of the chicks wears a Reign in Blood shirt. :dio:

Me too, I'm always hesitant about buying DVDs though because 90% of the time I just watch them once then they collect dust.

From Hell - Enjoyable movie about jack the ripper that sort of had a cartoony vibe to it (especially the sound effects used when people got stabbed :P). Only lame thing was that for a suspense movie the only thing I didn't see coming was the very end.

It's too bad suspense movies seem to be ridiculously convoluted or really predictable.

Fracture - Anthony Hopkins kicked ass in this movie, until the end. Oh well, pretty good.

Rob Zombie's Halloween

Eh, it's okay. The Micheal Myers backstory tries to make Myers a sympathetic character, and fails miserably at it. We don't need to know why he kills, just that he's going to shamble through the movie and kill people. It takes away some of the badassness of the character giving him a history, IMO. Once he ecscapes the asylum it basically becomes a shot for shot remake of Carpenter's movie, which makes it pretty pointless. I kept feeling like I should just be watching Carpenter's movie instead of wasting my time with this. Malcom McDowell is awesome as always, but there's not enough of him. It also feature cameos of all of the actors from House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects. Zombie is a good filmmaker, the actual editing and scene framing was excellent, but there's no real point to this remake.

Venus - Excellent film. Peter O'Toole is an argument against euthanasia like no other.
