the one and the same.

jokes aside, i have great respect for him, he showed great determination in the way he played and his love for his club (our rivals Sporting Lisbon) is unquestioned. a lion in and out of the pitch if i ever saw one (fitting, as that's SCP's symbol).

btw i was kidding with that "other news" bit.

And the Champions League 2007/2008 is underway!

Group Home Away
A Marseille 2-0 Beşiktaş
A Porto 1-1 Liverpool
B Chelsea 1-1 Rosenborg
B Schalke 0-1 Valencia
C Real Madrid 2-1 Bremen
C Olympiacos 1-1 Lazio
D Milan 2-1 Benfica
D Shakhtar 2-0 Celtic

Porto - i didn't see the match, but the stats made it look like Porto dominated, with more shots, ball possession and corners. unlike those fuckfaces, i don't want them to lose just because we're rivals, and i hope they make it at least into the next phase.

Shakhtar Donetsk / Celtic Glasgow - Shakhtar are looking strong according to the commentators, and with the added firepower up front this season (with Cristiano Lucarelli) it looks like Benfica will have to be very careful

AC Milan / SL Benfica - wow! AC Milan played a strong match and it didn't even look like they were trying too hard. they could turn defense into attack literally in a matter of seconds, and Pirlo's long passes always created trouble for us (he scored one goal and made the assist for the other). Kaka is amazing and the defense shows tons of experience and discipline, so yeah basically i think Milan could very well defend their title this season.

Benfica revealed their inexperience, only 3 players in the starting lineup had played the CL before. the injuries didn't help either, we were forced to play with a kid who came up from the academy this season and a brazilian who arrived 2-3 weeks ago and who played only his second game for us as centre-backs.
but all in all i think we played well under the circumstances, and i think we can make it into the next phase. also it was cool to see Rui Costa receiving an ovation when he was substituted, great attitude from the Milan fans.

HAHAHA chelski played 1-1 against Rosenborg... they are 5th here in norway with six matches to go... i think it is their routine in Europe that makes RBK a hard team to play against. i dont think they will continue this trend though. they are extremely unstable.

really? after the match today i was even more impressed with Milan's stature and their fans! such a mística, reminded me a lot of... BENFICA! :P

but why don't you support national teams on international competitions? i mean, i don't want FCP our SCP to win anything, but i do want them to get ahead and make a name for Portugal and to secure more european spots for Portuguese teams. in the Portuguese league i hope they get their asses kicked, but in Europe i'll root for any Portuguese team.

EDIT - btw, about 5 minutes ago i received a phone call from my cousin, his friend is visiting from the USA and we're going to Alvalade XXI tomorrow to watch Sporting Lisbon vs Manchester United!!

Darn, Liverpool were lucky to survive Porto with only 10 men. It was very clear the Portuguese were the better side and Liverpool were just getting frustrated. I liked it when they started getting physical. The amount of silly tackles made. But I feel sorry for Quareshma. Excellent player. But he was a victim of many tackles. He deserved a goal. But as a Liverpool fan, I'm happy they escaped with at least a point. Kuyt could have got all 3 points for them, but damn.

Because of the president fucking Silvio Berlusconi, he is the scum of Italy, he is the symbol of mafia and all that is bad in Italy.

agreed with Azrael... Rosenborg represents Norway in CL... though its the team i hate the most in norway, and my favourite team, Brann, biggest rivals, I enjoy that they put norway on the map.

yeah tomorrow, but you should get your hopes up, Brugge has been playing real crappy for almost a year now, and the new season isn't going as it should be either.

yea that suprised me to...NICE goal by fenebache though.

not convinced by manu today. but i understand the defensive tactics. sporting have won 14 matches in a row on that stadium. second half was brilliant. and i gained alot of respect for ronaldo when he almost apologized for the goal he scored.

Glory, Glory man united!

dude, he's awesome, the only thing is he doesn't seem to try too hard in the national team, compared to his effort with Man United.

also.. JOSÉ MOURINHO AKA HOOSAY MOURINYO QUITS CHELSEA!!
http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=419739

where the hell are they going to find a coach with an attitude like Mourinho's to handle all those stars? Fabio Capello?
the good thing is that now Mourinho can join the national team sooner and put that piece of shit Scolari in his place!

Dude, my hatred for Ronaldo is not cos of his incompetence in the national team or what so ever. I just hate him cos he's...RONALDO! That's all. You know, he's one of those guys you hate cos he's good and he plays for an arch rival team :P .

Well I'm glad Mourinho finally left. The rumours were going on for too long it's final. I dislike him for his shit talking and stuff. But I really respect him as a manager and although we all know he's fuckin arrogant, he's earned his bragging right. Chelsea will miss a great father.

Capello? I don't think he's got the attitude to handle so many world class players. Madrid is different. Player's WANT to play for Madrid for the honour and glory. On the other hand, people join Chelsea cos all they see is $$$, nothing more.

I haven't been following the Portuguese national team, so I'm not sure how Scolari is faring. But I think Mourinho fits perfectly in the team.
