Didn't I already say that in my review??

Pretty much. I must have missed the ™.

Whatever dude.......that and the fact that I already mentioned the overall "pop" feel with Anette's vocals especially on tracks like "For The Heart I Once Had". I fail to see the need to keep reiterating what I already stated in my review....Glad you like it though.....In time, I also believe that it might yet be Nightwish's finest hour....there...I stole one of your lines......now we're even...LOL!!!

Rrrrow!

I wrote that elsewhere and just pasted it here. It's just an innocent forum post (not a review). If there are similarities between our words, so be it. Maybe we both listened to the same album. :omfg:

Wait, Once wasn't recorded with an orchestra?! Wow, going to have to listen to that again...

Not a real orchestra, according to the band. At least in the sense of it being a huge production, like a symphony.

What, 4-piece instead of 50-piece, or something?

Uhh Once was recorded with an orchestra, all the members are credited in the booklet.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Once_%28Nightwish_album%29

Quote:
Once utilizes a full orchestra in nine of the eleven songs on the album. Unlike Century Child, Nightwish decided to look for an orchestra outside of Finland this time, choosing the London Session Orchestra, which also will be featured in their sixth studio album.

Marty...good for you to stand your ground. The last time I checked, to commit plagiarism doesn't require a trademark and/or copyright to have been involved.

He already said he had posted it somewhere else and then just had taken what he said there and put it here, I assume so he wouldnt have to write his opinion of the album several times, I fail to see any problem here.

Who are you again? Did I sleep with your woman or something? Don't accuse me of fucking plagiarism because of similarities in opinions on a goddamn album! Haha. Get over it. You don't like me. We know! Move on. I can go out and read a hundred other reviews that would be just as similar.

I mean, crazy that two people mentioned the poppiest song on the album when discussing the sometimes poppy nature of the new singer. Insane that we'd both mention Helloween opening their last album with an epic track, like this new Nightwish, because that's the only band that I can recall doing the same thing! Frickin' crazy!

Who I am is really of no consequence to you, is it? I was merely congratulating Marty on properly defending his position. As true to your form you have sadly over dramatized the situation. Secondly, (and also true to form) you have attempted to demean, not only what I wrote but me personally. You engage in feeble efforts at comedy, which usually involves hyper criticism and/or the degrading of someone personally or their views. Make no mistake about it, I find you crass (which was demonstrated in a thread that was recently locked due to your incredibly poor taste) and judgmental on an exponential scale. I however, will not cower from your juvenile nonsense.

Marty made his point quite clearly to you, as he had every right to. I’ve made mine. If this doesn’t sit well with you, then to borrow your phrase…”get over it”. As far as I am concerned the matter is over.

Haha. You said I plagiarized what I wrote, yet you tell me that I "attempted to demean, not only what [you] wrote but [you] personally". Marty had no need to defend his position. There was nothing to defend.

But go on being the forum troll (that's what you are doing, by the way). My opinion on the new Nightwish stands, and I'll likely repeat much of that if I do an official review, regardless of whether or not Marty wrote something similar. If I gave a crap, I'd go out and quote all the other reviews that say things very similar.

Smooches.

The plagarism argument is kind of weak, but I think the comment was really redundant. If you said "I agree with Marty when he said..." or "Like Marty said in the review..." that would have been better. As it stands, it came off as if you didn't read the review and were unaware of the comparison Marty made.

Not that I really want to get involved in this, I'm just stating why I think Marty got a little miffed.

Kind of weak? It's stupid. But regardless, I made a point to say I posted that comment elsewhere, that I was just cutting and pasting. A lot easier than editing the comment just so it doesn't repeat things Marty said in the review. If repeating things is pointless, maybe threads should be locked after one person says the album is good and another says it's not. Opinions covered! Thread closed! :)

That said, I'm not here to fight with people, so try and keep the attacks to a minimum. I even edited my initial response to Raven as to not appear to be picking a fight.

Children, play nice and stop hijacking a review thread. This goes for both of you. If you want to continue your argument, take it to Helheim or (even better) PM. This is not the place. Any further discussion that consists only of personal attacks (from anyone) will be deleted without comment.

(EDITED jibba jabba)

As for the album, I'm loving it. Even though I still would prefer Tarja as the singer for Nightwish, this album is awesome. The opening track is perhaps the most bombastic Nightwish song ever and there are a bunch of other tracks just as great (Bye Bye Beautiful, Sahara, Meadows of Heaven, Amaranth). A few songs haven't quite stuck in my head yet, but they'll probably grow on me. As far as I'm concerned this could be the album of the year.

Great review, by the way.

Has anyone heard the demos with Marco singing? The demo for "The Poet And The Pendulum" is awesome! They didn't even need a female vocalist, that's for sure. The demo for "Amaranth" (titled "Reach") has a different chorus, which isn't all that great, but it's still a cool little demo.

I actually like Anette more than Tarja. Much more maturity in her voice.
