+1. Will definitely be getting that when it comes out...

Played Assassin's Creed as well, and that game is awesome as well.

Finished that today, I was surprised by how much fun it really was. Must get the full game ASAP.

really? if so then i may consider the PS3. most of the PS2 owners i know had to send their consoles in for repair at some point, and all of them have killed at least one controller (it has especially shitty construction, the shoulder buttons soon turn to shit).

Nintendo, on the other hand, looks like the videogame equivalent to Toyota when it comes to reliability. everything i have from them is as good as new.

I got my PS2 at launch at had one problem after about two years. I sent it in to Sony and they gave me a new one for free (well, I had to pay for shipping...).

And if you're trying to decide, go with either a PS3 or a 360...the Wii looks fun for "casual" gamers but it's looking to have about two good exclusives (Zelda and Super Smash Bros. Brawl) in the next five years. PS3 and 360 share a lot of great third party games which the Wii doesn't get (Call of Duty 4), so you can't really go wrong with either. I own both a PS3 and a 360 and both are looking great...PS3 is starting to overcome its lack of great exclusives with Uncharted and 360 still has Halo 3, Gears, BioShock, and Mass Effect. I'd say you get more bang for your buck with PS3, though...built-in WiFi is huge for the PS3--getting a WiFi adapter for the 360 is somewhere around 90$ and raises the price above that of the PS3. But, like I said, I'd say either are good choices at this point.

yeah, the only thing that would make me buy the Wii is nintendo's awesome first-party games (Zelda, Mario, etc).

anyway i'll wait until next year to buy a console. by then i'll be able to see which one is getting the best games. the problem with Nintendo isn't the lack of exclusives, it's that games that come out on every other platform for some reason never make it to their home console. GTA and the Burnout series (after burnout 2) are good examples. i want Zelda but i'd also like something, you know, not made by Nintendo, but you just can't get that these days, it seems.

between the n64 and the gamecube i have 20 games, and maybe 4 are not made by nintendo or a second party.

Wii is actually getting a lot of third party support as of now- see Scarface, The Godfather, Manhunt and Medal of Honour: Heroes 2 for games that due to Wii control and are much better than their Sony and Microsoft counterparts. I really think that the whole "Wii is for casual gamers thing" is untrue: Certainly, there are a lot of "casual" games on the Wii, but there are also a lot of exclusive"hardcore gamer" games that are also very good- see Battalion Wars II if you enjoy strategy, the new Fire Emblem game for RPGs, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, SSX Blur, Excite Truck, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, etc... The main attractions of any newer Nintendo system are going to be Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Smash Bros; that being said, if you look beyond those, you'll find a lot of good exclusives and third party games for the Wii; add to that the Virtual Console, a good online system and that the Wii is 100% backwards compatible with all Gamecube games (unlike, say, the PS3), and I'd say its worth getting.

Not to say there's anything wrong with buying another system (though I do have a lot of doubts about the PS3 and have not been impressed with it thus far): The XBox 360 has a fantastic lineup of games, and the best online play of the three. Just wanted to point out that the Wii is a viable choice for the "hardcore gamer" (though I do hate the term with a passion).

I think the Wii will be getting plenty more third party support in the coming year. People need to realize that a big part of the reason why the Wii hasn't yet had a massive number of stellar third party games is because the console wars are going a lot differently than many third party companies initially predicted. Back about two years ago (when major third party games like Metal Gear Solid 4 and GTA 4 began development), many companies predicted the PS3 would be the dominant gaming platform, or at the very least it would just be a war between the PS3 and X-Box 360. With Nintendo relegated to the sidelines as a "children's game developer."

Of course, the exact opposite is happening. And a lot of third party companies are now kicking themselves in the teeth for not giving the Wii more support. Even EA stepped up last summer and confessed that they may have "backed on the wrong horse" by focusing so heavily on the 360 and PS3. Valve is another big Wii advocate, so the system may be getting some killer Half-Life style FPS's in the future.

The Wii is a great console with some really great games but I was tired missing on some sweet games that were 360 and PS3 becuase of the lack of graphics support of the Wii so I complemented the whole thing with a PS3. Wii-PS3 combo shall be a killer combo! lol

Seinfeld's right, many developers misjudged the Wii and are now kicking themselves and developing for it.

The other problem is a lot of developers rushed games out when the Wii turned out to be a huge success, leading to lots of average games on Wii.

I haven't decided what console to buy yet.......but the Wii is way cheaper.......hmmmm

Might take Grandbazaars idea, that is Wii plus one of the more powerful machines :P

I've been playing Fallen Sword quite a lot lately. It's a free web-based MMORPG that has amazing depth and thousands of players and guilds. I started it just because I've heard about it from some friends and I thought that this would be stupid and over in less than a few hours but during the last days I got really hooked and been playing for severals hours every day.
If you decide to try it, send me a message so that I can help you a bit at the start with advice and some gold/items, my character there is called Grundbar.

Oh and here's a nice button-link:

I'm definately gonna get a Wii, but I'm gonna hold back on getting the 360 until the price drops some more. :\

Some one before metioned the Wii not having 3rd party support, well did anyone else notice the quiet release of rockstar table tennis for it? This could mean GTA for the Wii, enough to get any gamer excited!

Ah Trigun! I loved this series so much I actually watched it twice! Now that I remembered this I also remembered that I promised to myself to watch Cowboy Bebop again as well and haven't done it yet. Hmmm I should probably get to it soon.

If you're addicted to that, don't start playing WoW...
