Brendon Small graduated from the same place the Dream Theatre guys did, Berklee School Of Music.

Dream Theater didn't graduate, they didn't need to.

Berklee is not a heavy metal school, it is not the GIT. It's wher eone goes to learn classical and jazz theory, nor is it the place to learn how to write geat songs.

It is more like a place you go if you want to be a career muscian, not an entertainer.

It's the soundtrack to a TV show, It is not an album released by a band. It's a novelty meant to cash in on the popularity of the show. We don't even know if the music is real on this album because pro-tools is so accessable to anyone that wants to make anything sounds the way the want.

Well I did see Brendon Small live with others playing for this Band. Sounded pretty much the same live as it did on the show.

Okay.

That reminds me. Dream theater said they had to practice for 3 weeks strait every day before they could tour for metropolis, pt. 2 because they couldn't remember how they played the songs or simploy couldn't do it because so much was improve'd.

Alex lifeson said he didn't think La Villa Strangiato would ever be played live (in 78) because he couldn't play the song again after he recorded it (again improvisation) so he had to woodshed to be able to pull it off live.

I would imagine this is a similar situation.

Well, they're (Dream Theater) definitely not entertainers...

It is a dramatic device to tell a story that paralells another story ajacently. rather than state things I don't know, I'll speculate by using other musicians stories instead to show a pattern of procedure.

I'm a huge, huge fan of the show, and for music based off of a television show I think this is fantastic.

I'd give it a perfect score, well aware that I'm incredibly biased, but I do like the music as well. It's not like I'm simply handing it a 100 because it's from the show, but I do love the songs and the inside jokes within each song make me chuckle occasionally.
