Sounds good. I love this band, only have Storm Before Calm and Spirit The Earth Aflame - this new one's definately on the list.

Excellent album, one of the year's highlights for sure. The vocals are indeed the strong point, powerful and emotional at the same time. Empire Falls is amazing \,,/{><}\,,/

YES

Here you have your album of the year.

Been to Ireland last Spring and when I listen to this and close my eyes, I see before me the beautiful rough landscape of Eire again.

Unmatched.

Old thread, but this album deserves more attention than this. It's so fucking good. I've listened to it several times, and every time it just gets better and more effecting. One of the few albums I'd call a masterpiece.

This album was actually hugely popular last year, weird how it has fallen to the depths so fast.

I was on the bus last week and was thinking about something similar. I noticed that nobody really talks about a lot of the older metal legends like Arch Enemy, At The Gates, Bodom, Nile, etc. anymore. It also seems that no albums that have been released recently have stayed in the collective memory of these forums. MR is starting to sound like UndergroundAmbientBMReviews or something. Maybe I just notice it less because I've been into metal for a lot longer now.

Maybe because everybody has already talked the classics to death and have already formulated an opinion which doesn't require any debate.

I would have to agree. I'm glad that many people spoke about this CD so highly in other threads. I didn't own any of their material until I bought this one based upon everyone's great remarks. I love this CD and it's always in rotation on my MP3 player. :dio:

I chose the wrong word, but a few years ago there was a lot more talk centered around a group of these metal bands, then everyone got bored and completely ignored them, and I haven't seen a lot of them mentioned for a while. I had just never noticed how much Gothenburg-style melodeath had faded... which is nice.

Nevertheless, it's still damn good.

But honestly, Primordial's music is better in autumn or a grey rainy day
