WAR
Jason Statham and Jet Li collaborate and make a complete piece of shit.

Rescue Dawn
Christian Bale plays a pilot during the Vietnam war and gets put into a prison camp. Based on a true story. Good.

3:10 to Yuma
Christian Bale and Russell Crowe chew scenery for a while. Entertaining.

I just watched that and really liked it. Russell Crowe did a great job as the likeable bad guy and I loved how the ending lacked any kind of predictable morality

I just watched it last night and I thought it was just entertaining. There were to many cheesy one liners and "no way" moments. Acting was good though.

"The Machinist" was one freaky movie! I think I have to watch it again because some parts didn't really make sense. Christian Bale was very good as usual, though.

The Machinist takes quite a few watchings to catch everything but it's really awesome. What hasn't been good that Christian Bale has been in.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? - Oddly unsatisfying. Too much singing. Still some nice smirksome moments ("Damn! We're in a tight spot!") and a great performance from Tim Blake Nelson.

No Country For Old Men - Great opening two thirds, kinda weak third act. I had to watch it with three hardcore gangstas (read: two Scottish-born Asian kids and one white kid) chattering they jibba jabba for about 40 minutes before they left. One of them kept going "FUUUUCK" every time a massive gun or some other sort of threatening phallic object appeared on screen.

Sunshine - whoa this was really powerful movie (most effective death scenes ever!!!)... took me like 30 mins to get into it but then i was kinda sucked into it totally.

kinda like the fountain where its a little prone to hokeyness in places though

but vry good

Femme Fatale - entertaining action/thriller deal that builds up to one of the cheesiest lines ever. don't contemplate the plot because either a-it's intentionally nonsensical or b-everyone involved in the movie is retarded

Death Sentence - i turned this off after 20 minutes because it was a combination of the stupidity of the worst action movies combined with the cheesyness of the worst dramas. concept has potential but fail execution

the point is that the singingg + music are awesome

Saw Cloverfield recently. It was good and interesting and even scary at points (I know! A modern horror movie that is actually scary for even a minute!) but overall, its pretty overrated.

Cloverfield was decent, yeah, but the it had a massive hype-machine driving it, so it's no wonder it's being overrated.

Falling Down - All he wanted was to get home for his little girl's birthday... Great film from the days when Michael Douglas was cool.

Went to California for a lacrosse tournament...on the bus we watched:

-3:10 to Yuma: It was good, but I wish that I hadn't watched it on the bus since I would've liked to know what was going on more.

-Lucky Number Slevin: Good, odd movie...another one I wish that I want to watch when not on a bus.

-Fast Times at Ridgemont High: Fucking stupid. How is this a classic? The only good parts were the titties...

-Superbad: Still hilarious on the third watch :P

right, i just came back from Cloverfield and it's all just hype. the movie is short and the ending is inconclusive and unsatisfying.

the "blair witch camera" actually worked well and the film had its moments, but there was zero payoff at the end. i definitely wouldn't watch it if i had to pay for it (i saw it for free).
