Watched Ostrov yesterday. If you can watch a 2-hrs movie about Russian hermits praying most of the time, including a half-crazed one who however is something of a saint then it's a really good movie. Definitely not for everybody though.

King of California. Michael Douglas plays a great crazy guy, and for the most part this movie was very entertaining. However, it is very unlikely. Anyway, another good one for the year 8/10

RAMBO IV

SO
MANY
PEOPLE
DYING

great movie. there's a decent start and finish, and one brutal bit in the middle with tons of killing. also featuring one of the greatest lines ever:
WHEN YOU'RE PUSHED... KILLING IS AS EASY AS BREATHING

JUNO- Pretty awesome really, got really low expetations for this, but i ended up laughing my ass off. Better than knocked up, which is kinda the same concept

RADIO- One of the best drama-movies I've seen in a while. Cuba Gooding is an excellent actor.

I avoided that. Pretending to be a retard + Cuba Gooding Jr = no.

Nah. Just a buffer for criticism. Half the shit that gets made into a film because 'it was real' and therefore usually has some insipid life-affirming message wouldn't be touched with a bargepole if it were fiction.

Sweeney Todd - Frigging awesome! Lots of great actors delivering stellar performances. Some of the songs were a bit cheesy but on the other hand, some were absolutely priceless. I'm quite surprised by the universal praise it has received, though. I saw it with a group of 8 persons and the reactions were very mixed.

Rescue Dawn - I liked it, Bale is awesome as usual, but WTF is up with the ending? There were also a few wtf moments during the movie. Could've been amazing if it didn't have the Hollywood bullshit in it. 6.5/10

Flight to Miami:

In the Valley of Elah - I love Tommy Lee Jones
Spinal Tap (again)
3:10 to Yuma - hay thanx 4 cutting off the movie 15 minutes from the end guys

Flight home from Miami:
3:10 to Yuma (take 2) - good action movie with a strong supporting cast. Perhaps too strong - I'm a big Christian Bale fan but he seemed to get lost in the ensemble a little too often.
Stardust (2nd time) - hay thanx 4 cutting off the movie 15 minutes from the end guys...

Intolerable Cruelty - cute parody of divorces by the Coen brothers

Yeah I had to watch that a second time to really get what was going on (wasn't paying attention the first time through and that didn't help), I really liked it once I did though.
