Liverpool really, and finally gave me a breather against Boro. It wasn't an impressive win, but most importantly we have all 3 points in the bag. Defence has been shitty all this season, but there's improvement in midfield. And I'm fuckin glad Torres did very well against Boro. A hattrick, finally.

I didn't watch the Arsenal match but managed to catch the highlights. It was a nasty tackle, but like someone here said, it doesn't look intentional. It's just unfortunate Eduardo was there at the wrong time and place. Shift inches to the left or right, he might have escaped with a bruise. From the pictures and footages I couldn't tell how bad the leg was, all I heard was the commentator saying it was broken. But when the camera focused on Fabregas looking over Eduardo, giving that horrid look, I guess it was pretty bad. I remember it was the same expression Nistelrooy gave when Riise broke Smith's leg from a free kick blast. I remember reading Nistelrooy's comment "Anoe part of the leg was pointing somewhere and the other was pointing towards Hong Kong" (or something like that).

Arsene's comment on how people are doing the worst to stop his players is true, but they're not the only victims. Any good player especially if he playes with flair is a target. Ronaldo (Cristiano) was a victim of a lot of nasty tackles just because he drove the defenders nuts apart from humiliating them.

For a great player that Eduardo is, the only worry all of us have is whether he will get back his true from/self once he's recovered. Smith didn't make it, and most probably never will. And from what I've heard, Eduardo's broken foot was even uglier than Smith's.

But one guy who has broken his leg only to comeback even stronger is Henrik Larsson. God bless him.

He broke both the skinbone and the legbone off, and could have risked an amputation, which would have been sad. The diagnosis doesn't look good, but he is sure he will return.

the image is a bit deceiving, though, it makes it look 100% intentional when i doubt it was.

i didn't see the previous Arsenal match, but yeah apparently several players tried to kill Nani.

as for Wenger's words, he issued a statement saying that what he said about Taylor being banned from football were hot headed words said in the heat of the moment, and he took it back.

But note that he didn't apologise. There's no way Taylor meant it. When he played for Blackburn we called him Bambi - he's the biggest sissy of a central defender ever. It's not in his make up to go into dangerous tackles. He was just clumsy.

I wonder what Eduardo would have said to him. It's not easy to forgive a guy who could probably put you out of business. Taylor could face a lawsuit if Eduardo can't comeback. Just like Roy Keane went through after tackling the Man City guy (what's his name again?). Did anyone follow that up? I still remember the Man City guy filed a lawsuit against Keane cos his career ended with that Keane tackle. But then Keane came back saying that he tackled the guy's right foot, but it's the left one which was giving the guy (ManCity) all the problems. I don't know what happened after that.

Terrible, terrible playing by Internazionale. Another 2nd useless yellow card though. Definitely not Inter's lucky moment.

Benfica's coach José Camacho quit after we tied at home with last-placed Leiria 2-2, sounding rather exasperated "there is nothing more i can do for the team".

while it's true that he arrived after the start of the season, you'd think that since august the guy would have made the team playt some half-decent football at the very least, yet the displays are nothing short of horrible. they all play like they just met that afternoon, there's ZERO logic to our game. how we are still in 2nd place is beyond me.

former Benfica star and eternal assitant manager Fernando Chalana will take over as caretaker. i don't dare imagine what incompetent idiot they will bring on as permanent replacement.

Werder Bremen 1 - 0 Rangers

However:

Werder Bremen 1 - 2 Rangers

...on aggregate! :dio:

Quarter finals of the UEFA Cup! Wooooo!

Quite how we survived the game is beyond me, but Allan McGregor made a complete miracle save with only 5 minutes to go.

That's great, Rad!! I really enjoy seeing the British teams do well in Europe, especially the Scottish teams.

But sadly Everton and Spurs went out on penalties. Harsh.

Manchester United - Roma! I'm so hoping for a reprise of last years sick match.

Yea that 7-1 was a serious hit for Roma. I think they got a much more stable team this year, i doubt they'll fuck it up that badly. As much as i hate Roma (being a Lazio fan) ill be supporting them all the way, the only italian team left!

The papers over here are so bias, guys. The headlines read "United have it easy, Gunners face Koppites".

Seriously every Man Utd fan is still bathing in the victory they had last year. But they never bother to realise that Roma have been drawn against United after beating a very strong Madrid side, back to back. So how could it ever be easy? United have a very strong opposition this time but they might just be the better team. However, I'm on Roma's side and I hope they give United a lesson, home and away.

Liverpool haven't been having it easy since the start of the CL season. They could have mowed the group stages but they decided the fans need more drama. Then they were drawn against Inter, who at that moment were leaders of the Serie A. And now, they have ARSEnal. It's going to be tough for either side, and I suspect a controversial decision might be the tie breaker.

Last years victory was a demonstration of power. I suspect they will be getting a tougher match this year, as Roma is looking for revenge. So calling it easy is just bad journalism.
