three kings - good post-gulf war action/adventure with some political messages that don't really bog the blog down

my kid could paint that - documentary about a 4 year old who gets acclaim in the abstract art world. the story is cool but i hate that media type stuff (the films director included) make the ridiculous jump from "dad taking part in his kid's paintings" = evil scheme to rip off art buyers

Rosemary's Baby: Very good. Mia Farrow is excellent. But the whole HAIL SATAN ending with the black crib and the inverted cross was ridiculously cheesy.

The hail satan ending is like the entire point of the film, haha. Good film but not my favourite satanic horror by a long way. That would be the more lowbrow The Omen :dio:

I was more taken by Farrow's gradual decline into madness as she slowly realizes what happened, but the ending was really cheesy. Could have been a kickass heavy metal satanic cult, instead was a bunch of sweet old people. LaVey was cool as the devil though.

And true, the Omen is awesome! "You haven't won... anything!"

yeah probably. but i think her painting's quality decreasing while she was on camera is from her picking up on her parents's nervousness/not acting normal. the one she painted with her mom filming her is much closer to her good paintings than the ones with a stranger filming, so that last leap in quality could be just from not having a camera there.

i thought the way the movie made everything so dark and dramatic was just a retarded way of telling a pretty cool story
