+1 on Scholes!
He's a fuckin maniac. That's one thing about Man Utd, if you need help, the old boys are there to chip in. Wonder of a shot.

Anyway tonight is another big showdown. Liverpool could have had an advantage if not for Riise's last minute Head of God. Shite! If Chelsea play like how they did against Man Utd last weekend, Liverpool should just forfeit the game.

Barça has got a solid champions, not only two games. But without scoring, you can't win.

Scholes, Ferdinard and Brown were the best of Manchester.

Now my fav is Liverpool.

Yea, Liverpool. They are the easier team to beat... but I don't wanna loose to them at all...

Every United player did a hell of a job. And they deserved the victory.... Barca made many mistakes. One which was crucial. The only player above United was Messi. No-one else. Zambrotta was good, and had good control on Ronaldo. I'm very impressed by Tevez, Park and Brown. They were all awesome, and Brown filled Vida's place perfectly.

Liverpool were pathetic last night. I was really embarrassed being a Liverpool fan. Words escape me.

Finally Chelsea showed that they belong in the top 5 of the Premier league. In a side note, Man U deserves to win both the PL and the CL because Chelsea weren't as consistent as they were.

WoW. Rangers is probably the most cynical team i have ever seen. Defending for 120 min, so cold in the penalty kicks. I have no idea why Fiorentina chose Vieri as the 4th kicker, everybody knows he cannot take the stress.

UEFA Cup final baby! :dio: :dio: :dio: This is an unbelievable night for me. This is the first time we've gotten to a European final in 36 years (ie the first in my lifetime). I'm so proud of the team. Cynics that talk about our negative football mean nothing to me. What's the point of us trying to play fluent football against teams that are many times better than us? We play to our strengths, and we play to them well.

Roll on May 14th! Now, to try and procure a ticket...

bah. sorry Craig but i was rooting for Fiorentina. i quite like them, and they play much better football (but of course, Rangers did their own thing and obviously i didn't expect them to try to out-play Fiore).

what about Zenith? 4-0 and Bayern Munich were hopelessly fucked in the ass. unfortunately for Zenith, Pogrebniak (who scored twice tonight) got a yellow card and will miss the final.

this will be quite a shitty match... two teams playing mainly defensive/counter attacking football. this will probably be like that recent Juventus/AC Milan Champions League final, except without even the star power. blargh.

It's quite a special final for me - the Zenith manager Dick Advocaat managed Rangers between 1998 and 2002. As much as I like him, it's weird that he was brought in to replace Walter Smith in the hope of us becoming a European force, and now with Smith back in charge we have gotten further than Advocaat ever took us on about 1/5 of the budget.

Supporting the team of a city you've never been to is such a fucking foriegner thing to do.

Not everyone has one of the best leagues in the world taking place in their country. hellraiser is from Malaysia.

Do you want to watch Malaysian football?

Well I just don't understand supporting foriegn teams to be quite honest, it even annoys me when people I know support teams like Arsenal when they've very rarely if not ever been to London. People need to remember that supporting a team is about more than just football.

What? lol. I don't support the city, I support the players that make up the team, or do I have to meet the players first before I can support them?. I love football and if I couldn't watch international football I'd go crazy.

supporting a club is more than just football, true, but it's also more than just supoporting a town or country. i know many FC Porto fans from Lisbon (and Benfica fans from Oporto) and they love their clubs just as i love Benfica.

one's support for a club doesn't come, especially in these days, from being from the same place as them or something.

Further to Celtic's luck with refereeing decisions last week:

They won 2-1 today, with their winning goal coming in the 80th minute from a corner which, according to media reports, was awarded when one of their own players put the ball out of play.

Two weeks ago, they were beating Aberdeen 1-0 when an Aberdeen player equalised in the final minute. The goal was ruled out for handball - TV replays later showed he had clearly controlled the ball with his chest.

Earlier in the season, drawing 1-1 with lowly St Mirren, they are incorrectly awarded a free kick which the score the winning goal from in the 89th minute.

But the referees are biased towards us.
