If Biron was benched the Flyers would still win. Talk about missing a ton of open net oppurtunities.. jesus.

There have been a lot of post hits, true, but don't deny that out of the 30-40 shots montreal is shooting every night, there aren't at least 8-10 that are really really nice and that takes phenomenal goaltending to stop.

Oh god yeah, if not for Biron we would be up 3-1 or may have won it all by now. I was mostly just getting at the fact that the shot accuracy has been pretty bad. Moments where the players would come through in the season (which is why they were number 1 in the east) they just aren't completing.. Missing open nets, no one around for awesome rebounds, missing breakaways (we had like 2 or 3 breakaways in one game and no goals on either).

It's hard to watch because Montreal is totally outplaying them in every department except goaltending, alot of the goals on Price have been weird easy goals. I want to say fluky without sounding like an annoying fanboy, but some of the Flyers goals have been weird and impossible (or nearly) to stop.

If Montreal goes out this round though I am still proud of this years team. Predicted by most to not even make the playoffs and they finish 1st place in the east with the most goals in the league.. I was impressed. Maybe they can take what they learned this year and go further into the playoffs next year.. Assuming of course they don't win 3 games in a row... Which they will :dio:

Of course we'll win 3 games in a row, and the Stanley Cup. But if the playoffs are cancelled because the Habs are too good and we don't win the Stanley Cup or move onto the next round for such a reason, I still will be very proud of what they did this year, and of their performance of their series.

Nothing to be ashamed of at all. Kudos to Montreal, to Price, to Kovalev, to Koivu, to Plekanec, to the Kostitsyn brothers (maybe not to Brisebois), to Higgins, to Kostopoulos, to Smolinski, and to Guy Carbonneau. Though I think that Montreal deserved to win the series (or at least get it to game seven), kudos nonetheless to the Flyers, and particularly Biron and Briere. Anyway, I'm very proud of the Habs and what they did this year- I'm hopeful that next year they can build on the experience to do even better.

They totally outplayed Flyers in at least 3 of those last 5 games. I suppose it wasn't their year. They did a great job and it's hard to be disappointed with all the effort they put in. Can't wait for next year and see if they can bring their game up a couple notches.

Today, the Toronto Maple Leafs, or should I say Cliff Fletcher, fired Head Coach Paul Maurice.

All I can say is, yes. A step in the right direction. He is a good coach, but not for an un-inspired under-achieving Toronto team. Hopefully our new Coach along with ouy new GM can help turn our franchise around. It will take time and we will need to build through the draft, but hopefully we can do it. Tanking next year means John Tavares. Which means finally a franchise player for Toronto who is Canadian and is young.

rant over...

So the finals begin on Saturday...

Prediction time.

I say the Wings take it becuase they are just as talented, better defence, experienced, and have home town advantage.

Plus Detroit is a puck possession team, they are first in the league at face-off wins and the Pens are like 2nd last, so that means the Wings will have the puck a lot right off the draw.

Plus if the Pens win, Cindy Crosby will be everywhere x3. He is already everywhere now, it will just be much much more if he wins.

I predict Wings take it in 6. They're just too damn good defensively while at the same time being incredibly talented when on the attack. The same could be said for the Pens I guess, but I think they'll be outperformed puck possession wise, and start to get frustrated. Hopefully Franzén will be back, he really set the second line on fire for the Wings.

But then again, my previous playoff predictions were way off.

I hear a lot of people saying Pittsburgh will win, because they have a Canadian Captain and no team has ever won with a Swedish captain. I think that is bullshit. But if its true heres hoping Roberts takes out lidstrom in game one then the Wings take it in 7.

i'm pretty neutral about Sidney. it's kinda ridiculous the amount of attention he's gotten, but he's also lived up to it in a way by being the top scorer in the playoffs (or at least he was before yesterday's game, someone on detroit might have passed him now)

I am pretty sure Zetterberg passed him now. And I would much rather have #40 over #87 anyday. I will admit though he is a good player, its just the hype he has gotten is insane. I was watching HNiC on Saturaday, and it was just another Crosby interview. Like we havnt seen any of those since the playoffs started.
