I bet that Radagast isn't very happy about last night :P

wonder if he beat up any pigs to make up for it ?

Nar, sure hes not like that haha.

Have to admit i was supporting Zenit last night. I think if rangers had of won, it would have been a disgrace to football. Since they got knocked out of the UCL, they played 840 mins of football and scored 5, yes 5 goals and only won 2 of their 9 games. What a dreadful way to play football. It gets even worse when you include the UCL results. Every game they play they just defend and hope to some how beat the other team, and to be fair it did get them to the final. But they are without a shadow of a doubt the most boring team i have ever had the displeasure of watching. Seeing 10 men behind the ball all game is not my idea of football. Rangers plan A was to send the other team to sleep. If Everton played that way i'd probably support Liverpool... ok no i wouldn't but i'd be fucking pissed off about it.

Sorry Rad I just hate to see the beautiful game played so badly.

zenit was clearly better than rangers last night and desered their win. They'll probably do good in Champions League if they reach it.

I really feel sorry for Ranger, but to echo metal_xxx's words, Zenit were the better team.

It's ok Rad, there's always next season.

Did Rad come down for the game, and is now languishing in some inner-city hospital? I like how everyone's apologising to him, fearing some mad outburst of rage and grief. The mourning of the Scots has been a source of pride for us English for the past several hundred years, mostly because we caused it. You can't blame us this time!

If you did come down, Rad, I forgive you for not getting in touch and arranging a meet-up. I'm not cross or anything. Oh no.

It isn't this that annoys (fascist bastard riot cops deserve all they get) so much as this:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/7402414.stm

100 tonnes of rubbish, you filthy Scotch louts!

Pah, I applaud the cops for cracking the skulls of the filthy bastards that befouled the name of my club. Dirty bastards have completely humiliated us and ruined one of the biggest nights in the history of the club (even if we did lose).

As for the 100 tons of rubbish - where, exactly were they supposed to put it all? No extra bins or skips anywhere...the organisation of the whole thing was piss awful. It's like they got their initial estimates of how much policing and then didn't bother revising it when a team from just up the road got to the final.

I was indeed at the game, sorry for not abandoning my relatives to come see you Zaddles. Thankfully avoided the trouble, but thanks to more shit-awful organisation (one hour stood in a crowd of thousands at a train station only for the bastard to drive past and leave us standing on the platform) meant we had to spend £80 to get a taxi back to our hotel for 3 in the morning.

Stu, I've said it before and I shall now say it again - what's the point of trying to play at a level we aren't close to when we can get results by being somewhat negative? People who say "I'd rather play well and lose" are talking shit. I'm afraid we can't all afford to spend £8m on the Yakubus of this world.

I was wishing Gavin Rae, Stevie Thompson and Kevin McNaughton the best.

And Rangers fucking drew with fucking Motherwell meaning for us to win the fucking league we need to win our last two fucking games and hope fucking Celtic lose their final one. Or they win and we win both our games like 6 fucking nil.

Yeah your right. I can't deny that it works for some teams, Bolton come to mind. But from a neutral point of view its not much fun to watch. Thats the point i'm making but i'm sure you heard that before.

Btw we spent 11.2 M on the yak :omfg:

But to be fair Everton have no where near the money of most of the teams in the Prem. Man U, Liverpool, Chelski, Arsenal, Man City, Newcastle, Villa, and Spuds have spent at least double what we have (in the case of the top 4 tripple ) for about the last 4 seasons. Most of the other clubs have spent more then we did this season, sunderland and pompey come to mind. My point is we have done well by just sticking with our manager, something it seems the rest of english football could learn from.

Shows that money isn't everything....but it does help a lot haha

On the day of the Rangers match my bus went past this pub and some Scottish guy lifted up his kilt to us. It was fucking HILARIOUS and all the kids where screaming.

i thought you hated Milan teams? or is it just AC Milan?

and on the Serie A: i am happy to see Fiorentina reach a solid 4th place finish. three players i very much respect spent an important part of their careers there: Batistuta, Di Livio (who stayed with the club even after bankruptcy) and, obviously, Rui Costa.

i like AC Milan, but this season they were shit. hopefully this lesson they learned will bring about some renewal.

what do you guys think of the Euro 2008 national call-ups? Germany called up three second division players, France didn't call Trezeguet into the preliminary 30-man squad and Spain left out Raul.

to be fair, he didn't play any of the qualification matches... on the other hand, he should have been called up for those as well. calling him up now would be admiting a mistake, and that could undermine Aragones..

I was quite surprised that he wasn't called up for the matches. He's a legend, and will always be one. Although he is pretty old now, he's still venomous.

There're personal problems between Raul and Aragones, since the match Spain lost with Eire in september 2006.

That's the reason Raul won't go to the Euro.

Also, Spain plays with 5 midfields, Alonso/Senna, Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc & Silva and just one forward, Torres/Villa. Raul has not starter place in Spain team now, and in world champ having him in the bench caused problems that didn't help the team.

The main important thing in a champ is having a team that fight together, and if the trainer think a really good player can cause problems, it's a good decision to left him out.

St. Mirren 0-3 Rangers

So we go into the last game with a chance of winning the league. But we need to win and hope Celtic don't, or win by about 7 more goals than they do.

did anyone see the match just now? i only caught extra time.. scrappy, as one could expect. do you think Drogba was rightfully sent off? seemed a tad harsh to me, even though it was him initiating contact (i think).

i'm really sorry for John Terry... team captain missing a penalty that could've given his team the Champions League. Benfica's captain António Veloso missed a penalty in the 1987/88 final and he's still not over it, even though he still enjoys legendary status at the club. still, Terry pretty much saved his team when he blocked that Ryan Giggs shot. fucking legendary save right there.

and Ronaldo.. scored a goal and missed a penalty. Man United won anyway, though, which is good for him as it'll help erase this mark. hope he's still hungry for titles, though - Euro 2008 is just around the corner.

so, congratulations to Manchester United, in my opinion the best club this season. lethal in attack and solid in defense while still having some style in their football, and they had in Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney two of the best players in the world this season. Alex Ferguson said this side is better than the one that got the treble and he could be right.

fuck me, this was just too awesome... I'm speechless and in fucking tears. WOW.

United dominated the first half, and chelsea the second. All in all a fair full time scoreline. IMO united were slightly better in extra time, probably because im a united fan. Drogba is such an ass, fuck him. When you are so stupid that you hit Vidic when three minutes are remaining, something is simply wrong. And he doesn't come out to support his teammates afterwards. What a giant prick.
