Iron Man - Surprisingly good. The music is great.

Me too.
+1.... just came home from the theatre.. it was pretty darn good if you ask me. 75/100
I enjoyed it, but I'm rather biased. I've never been a huge fan of iron man in the first place, but it was good over all.

Beowulf

Action scenes were great.
...Like the animated version? That movie is absolute bullshit. Ruined the epic poem so much.

Beowulf is pixelporn on Blu-Ray, that is all....

The fight scenes where they try to conveniently cover up Beowulf's pixel wang reminds me too much of Austin Powers. It was ridiculous.

Fell asleep to Event Horizon last night. Sam Elliott was looking reliably confused before I nodded off, so might try it again tonight.

The Brotherhood of War

I love Korean films. I'm not a big fan of the war genre but this film was incredible.

Walk All over Me - quirky movie about dominatrixes and clutzes and some kind of thriller story. could have been better but it was entertaining

The Great Debaters - The Mighty Ducks meets racism. can't really go wrong with Forest Whittaker and Denzel Washington, the actors who played the debate team were good too.

Iron Man

Really good, as others have said. Probably my favorite superhero movie.

Prom Night - 3/10

Run of the mill modern "horror" movie with a script and a plot that could have been written by pretty much anyone.

"Manos" The Hands Of Fate (which I have linked on the Mystery Science Theater 3000 thread). EVERYBODY must see this movie! You will not believe that it was actually intended to be taken seriously.

i also liked it a lot. i had seen it at the theater before, though, and liked the music there more because it seemed a bit faster-paced, although i guess that's a matter of taste.

EDIT - just saw The Man From Earth. expected more from all the hype. nowhere near as interesting or thought-provoking as everyone was saying..

The Reaping - bad horror movies are bad especially when a satanic cult becomes the deus ex machina.

Bowling for Columbine - I'm Micheal Moore. I show stupid americans being stupid to explain my point that Americans are stupid and should bow to my will.

It's pretty sad that it's Paul Wank Stain Anderson's best film by some distance.

Sorstalanság (Fateless) - 6/10

Not bad but nowhere near as powerful and disturbing as the book by Imre Kertesz that it's based on.

Step Up - 1.5/10

Too predictable, too much awful music, too much ridiculous hip-hop "culture", too much crappy acting, too many paper-thin characters, too many stereotypes...I want 104 minutes and a few brain cells back!

Nightmare 7: Wes Craven's New Nightmare.

I have to say this is a very underrated movie.

some movies I have seen the past 5 weeks:

No country for Old Men: Really cool movie, though i watch it without subtitles making it impossible to understand Tommy Lee Jones' texan accent. I watched it with some exhange students and we pretty much agreed that the movie would have been better without him because he isn't directly involved in the story. The villain in this movie is so fucking cool.. funny.. and ugly - and his choice of weapons are really awsome. I know ppl will disagree with me, but it felt awsome in the same vain as taratino movies does.

Commando: Arnold at his best.. yeah, a fucking stupid movie, i know.. but it's funny.

McBain: Funny as always, but also really stupid.

Ussual Suspect: Cool as always

Iron Man: Also a cool movie - just came back from the ciname. But the beginning isn't too good. The man behind the iron mask, goes from being an arogant asshole to a humanitarian helper in less than 2 minutes. It isn't too well written - also, you never see him come up with the plan for the Iron Man suite, alluva sudden he just happens to have plans to build a proto type of the iron man suit while being held hostage in the cave. It is his way out... a bit "meh"
That said, i really liked Robert Downey Jr. in this movie
