Downloaded the full version of Command & Conquer Gold (EA's now distributing the game for free on the official C&C website). Great game. Although, since I'm now playing the original, I probably won't need to buy Red Alert for a while.

Age of Empires II. Classic game!

Also GTA IV. Fucking great.

Also want to try to beat Metal Gear Solid 3 before I get Metal Gear Solid 4--supposedly MGS4 is one of the greatest games ever created, on par with GTA III and Final Fantasy VII. I'm excited--watch out for the PS3, people.

You seriously have to play all of the Metal Gear games before you play the fourth one. The games just get better and better, and the third one is totally unbelievable. The series is such a thrilling, movie-like experience with a philosophical storyline that touches stuff like artificial intelligence and world politics. The best thing about the games though is how fucking cool they are, they're so incredibly stylish with wonderful art direction and the best game music ever created.

PS. I want to marry Metal Gear Solid.

Haha. I actually got to the old sniper guy on a rental of MGS3 but didn't beat it. So, I bought it but have started over since I'm doing it on my PS3 this time. I dunno if I'll play all of them, but my goal is to beat 3 and read up on the story of the first two so I'll be prepared for 4 :dio:

Cool. The End is one of the coolest boss battles ever. You can actually kill him in one of the cutscenes earlier in the game and the boss battle won't happen, lol. Also, if you set your console's clock forward a few years The End will have died of old age, hah. Oh, another cool thing about the battle is that you can find his parrot sitting in a tree, if you kill it you can eat it. He'll be pretty pissed at you though.

Red Alert is way better imo. Soviets kick some serious ass.

I've played Tiberium Wars a few times. Got completely owned. Wanted to take a shower because I felt so violated. Online RTSers are brutal. I'll stick with C&C Generals for a while .

Try Starcraft. C&C is basically just: Get resources, buy building, build tank after tank after tank after tank.

Bioshock is AMAZING. Played it for like five hours straight this weekend. Too bad summer school is now sucking up all of my time like some type of evil vortex so I haven't been able to play it when i wanted to...

Yeah it is a bit on the simple side. But have you played Tiberium Wars yet? It's the most complex C&C to date.

Well, I finished Okami. Its definitely a fantastic game, though it does have a few flaws- its storyline, while interesting at point (namely, whenever the character Waka shows up) is extremely disconnected, and it feels like the storyline follows the "sorry Mario, but our princess is in another castle" route (ie, you defeat a bad guy who you're told is the ultimate baddie, only to then find out that there's another even bigger baddie out there). Also, the game is way too wordy for its own good- it always says in ten minutes of cut scenes what it could have in three, and after a certain point I wanted to kill Issun, who half the time is a fairly entertaining character but who otherwise repeats what other characters have said to you right after they've said something to you and explains everything you're supposed to do in the most excruciating detail. And then finally, the game is way too easy. Easy combat is one thing, but when the longest I got stuck on a puzzle was three minutes... Not a good sign.

But anyway, a great 30 hour adventure. The Celestial Brush worked great with the wii-mote once you got used to it (I can't imagine controlling it with a stick), the world huge and well built, the art beautiful and the game just fun in general. I definitely recommend it- 8.5/10.

Edit: Oh yes, and this game is so similar to Zelda: Twilight Princess in so many ways. I'm convinced they had the same team making both games. Or that one game stole all its ideas from the other.

and i finished Prince of Persia: Two Thrones. excellent up until the last third, where the horrible "spinning blades everywhere" thing just went overboard. all in all, it was worth the £7 i paid for it. definitely a game to get if you find it cheap.

Out comes my inner child and my inner nerd.

I bought Dragonball Z: Burst Limit for the 360. Beat the first Saga, and now will play it again probably after this weekend.

I'm playing a classic: Civilization 2. I really enjoy that game, I think it's the best of the Civ series.

I agree. I never really understood the appeal of the later games. Civ 2 is simple enough to stay addictive all the way through, and it's got some really cool art direction and in-game video. Gotta love the throne room.

7 hours into Metal Gear Solid 4... Completely amazing so far. Up until now it could have gone either way on which new system was the best, but for now, PS3 can't be beat so long as they have this exclusive.
