I didn't watch all match, but from what I saw, Italy didn't play half bad. You had some good opportunities (Pirlo's freekick, I don't remember whose angle shot) but you were a bit unlucky, Van Der Sar was in great shape and the wheel turned. And the first goal was clearly offside. Us, on the other hand, showed absolutely nothing. Good defense perhaps, but absolutely zero offensive valence. That's not the way to qualify.

Based on first two matches, I'd say Italy and Netherlands move on. Maybe France can make a claim too, but they really need to step up their game. They weren't in the least bit impressive so far.

dunno, Dago. things weren't looking good for The Netherlands either, with Seedorf ruling himself out and Babbel missing the tournament through injury, while Robben and Van Persie were unabailable for this match.

hopefully Donadoni will learn from this. all-Milan midfield, wtf?

It was not offside.. According to the rules, a defender can't leave the pitch, unless he is getting treatment. So he abolished the offside

Was someone out? I didn't see him.

Van Persie played in the second half. He played well.
What's up with Seedorf?

It would have been offside if he was standing but he wasn't so maybe (but im not sure) there was offside. But yea i agree with the fact he was a fucking douche, he should have stopped crying, the little girl, and get back in action...
Netherlands played very well the first half but they were incredibly fucking lucky ( i usually don't like to say this), everything went perfectly right for them.

So yea Portugal fucked us in the ass. I'm pissed because not only we played with a terribly wrong line up but we also didn't even swing a goddamn punch before we fell. I mean Portugal is favorites against anyone in this tournament but Turkey should never get so desperate against anyone because our squad is better than the lot of these teams here.

And how boring can France get? Seriously I fell asleep during that game.

Holland was great though, Sneijder is one of the best players right now.

I don't get the criticism of the defense for Italy I mean you don't have Cannavaro and Nesta but you have Barzagli and Materazzi who are still the best 2 center backs in this tournament. The problem is in the tired old midfield, they look like they can't create a goal chance to save their own lives and can't defend as well as they're supposed to. It's fucking Luca Toni just get the ball to him and he'll score ffs.

I didn't watch the game (heck I can't watch any games cos I'm working the next day!) but to hear that they conceded 3 goals, something is terribly wrong with Italy. They have my bets this Euro and I sure hope they do something about it.

I just hope France have a far terrible time which gives the Azzuri time to catch up and qualify for the eliminations.

Italy, playing half as good as yesterday, can beat France and Romania if the play as yesterday.

But I were Donadoni I'd change Ambrosini for Di Rossi. Italy's midfield can't depend only of Pirlo.

As long as the game hasn't been stopped because of his injury, it is not offside... They got the Norwegian head ref to explain.

Spain 4- Russia 1.

Good spanish start, Villa "Maravilla" (Hat trick) & Torres "El niño" have played very well, and Senna as defensive midield has done a perfect match.

I think Spain won't have problems til quarter-finals. Here, we'll play against Holland or France or Italy and lose, as always.

OldSchool: sorry.. you're right. goal.com was saying he was injured, though. Seedorf ruled himself out, but i'm not sure if he retired from the national team or just doesn't get along with Van Basten.

Kathy: sorry? what about the Portuguese duo, Pepe and Ricardo Carvalho? world fucking class.

and i didn't expect portugal to play this well. for all the talent, the team showed zero effort and teamwork before the tournament. i think this a very pleasant surprise for many people in portugal.

ganeshaRules: yeah, nice one. Spain was a bit shaky in the end (after Pavlyuchenko's goal), but otherwise they were solid and playing some quality football. Spain has got a ton of talent in midfield - Fabregas, Xavi, Silva, Xabi Alonso, Senna, Iniesta... hot damn.

Great match by Spain. As for Russia, did thos team knock England out? OMFG!

I've got low expectations for Spain, they never seem to reach far in a championship. But this display raised them a little.

well, i missed quite a few predictions... i thought:
- france would beat romania
- italy would beat the netherlands
- portugal would win but with a shitty performance
- czech republic would pwn switzerland
- greece would tie or defeat sweden

Well it's good to see that the Spaniards are doing well. I hope they break their jinx, if Italy doesn't make it in the first place. AZZURI!!!

Anyway I'm really annoyed. The games are on air here at 2.15am and that's my bed time. If it weren't for work, I'd be watching all the games. Now with work, I can't even watch one. I should have just remained jobless till the Euro is done. Or shall I just quit? Guys?
