Methinks I'm gonna replay Terranigma sometime soon. If anyone hasn't played it go grab a SNES emulator and do so. It's fantastic, and for some reason was never released in America, but was over here in Europe .

Me too. The MGS series is the only real series I play for the story.

Exactly, then have a ton of great exclusives and above all, Gears of War 2. Nuf said, as the wise men say.
And Wii have Super Mario Galaxy and probably an upcoming Zelda.

Now, I have not played MGS4 and probably should not speculate too much, but personally I've never regarded the MGS-series as that great. The first was a small revolution, although more of a movie than actual game, but then it went with the second and third downhill.

I haven't been playing that much recently. I am disappointed with GTA IV. It is exactly like playing San Andreas with a few improvements here and there. It's an amazingly well crafted game, but it does not entertain me to the same extent anymore. When I think about games like the above mentioned Gears of War, Portal and Super Mario Galaxy, these are games that was a joy ride from beginning to the end, but GTA IV just isn't. There are some great parts, but between them there's too much time consuming driving, hanging out with pals, repeating missions, using a pretty badly implemented shooting-system and other stuff.

Yes? Actually I am now 9:30 hours into it and there has been way more gameplay VS videos than the other games. And even if that wasn't the case it would be amazing. I love watching videos, one of my favorite games of all time "Shadow of Destiny" was barely even a game, you just walked places and solved things and watched a ton of videos.

If you ever played MGS3 you'd know that that is what Metal Gear is all about these days. I'm not complaining though, Metal Gear was always cinematic, Hideo Kojima talked about this, in fact it was all he talked about. Hah, it was his vision, I think he succeeded, because I've never played anything like the MGS series.

There is so much I want to say about Metal Gear, I just can't put it into words, they aren't the "best" games I've played, but they've had a huge impact on me. I would go gay for Metal Gear. That's what I'm trying to say.

Oh I know. MGS3 was my favorite of them all since the day I beat it. These games mean alot to me as well, I played part 1 at least 9 years ago and got 2 and 3 and now 4 on the exact days of release and finally having this real sequel to part 2 is amazing and makes me feel really nostalgic. Alot of people complain about the videos, but as you said, thats what MGS is all about, storytelling and I love it and any who don't shouldn't even touch part 4. Like I said though, so far it feels like I've been playing more than watching more than any of the other games so far.

A slight spoiler then for MGS4:

The ending is looooooooooooooooooooong.

If you have a ROM or an emulator, probably. Don't ask me where to get one, though, 'cuz I'd like to know the exact same thing.

So I'm still playing BioShock, which I now think may be my favorite game of all time. Next on the list is Oblivion and MGS3. After MGS3, then MGS4. I wonder when I'll get around to starting up Mass Effect again...probably never

You'd need a PSOne emulator and an ISO from the discs, however it was released on th PC as well, which would be easier to run if you can find an ISO of it. Mininova may have some. I had it on the PC as well, I should never give people a loan of anything...

Bioshock (xbox360): one of the best games I have ever played.

Eternal Sonate (xbox360): a fucking childish japanese RPG game. I'm sick and tired of the acting in these games, it's always the same crybaby acting or the "super-duper-nice-16-year-old-boy"... arghh! I like some elements in the game, though, but the acting and the dialogues makes me wanna puke my guts out.

Bioshock is indeed good, but since you are pretty much immortal and can not get a game over screen makes it way too easy methinks, even on hard setting. Eternal Sonata was ok, kind of fun combat but way too much repititon and the VA was ok, considering you were playing kids.

But if you want a much darker RPG on the 360, may i recommend Lost Odyssey? It's pretty much the opposite of Eternal Sonata. It's from the guy who is responsible for classics like FF VII, Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve etc.

The fact that there's pretty much no penalty for dying does make the game easier than most, but the fact is that you die a shitload and if there was a penalty, the game would be WAY too fucking hard. I think it's perfect  except for the absolute suckiness of the subtitles
