just finished Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (yes, i am very late). very good overall, but sometimes the cutscenes just became annoying. don't even get me started on the final one...

Must get a used copy. I have a Wii now so I can play Gamecube games on it. How close is it to the original MGS?

i have no idea. my friend says the controls are like in MGS2, while the plot and level design are exactly the same as in the original. one big change, according to wikipedia, is the ability to shoot in first person view.

I'd assume they'd have to adapt it a little to work around the MGS2 engine.

I'm pondering whether I should pick up Secret Of Mana on Half.com. I've played it a couple times on an emulator, and I liked it enough that I think buying the actual game would probably make sense by now. It's also supposedly the only truly great game in the Mana series (although Legend Of Mana, from what I've played out of it, was pretty good).

Okay, I decided instead to sell a bunch of old games and buy Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne on Direct2Drive. The original was one of my all-time favorite computer games, and the sequel is every bit as good. Actually, it's even better because of the better graphics. I sooooo hope Max Payne 3 is released sometime soon.

I've actually never been online with WCIII due to fear of getting royally shafted :D.

Though I wouldn't mind a game or two sometime.

Bioshock is indeed good, but since you are pretty much immortal and can not get a game over screen makes it way too easy methinks, even on hard setting.

The fact that there's pretty much no penalty for dying does make the game easier than most, but the fact is that you die a shitload and if there was a penalty, the game would be WAY too fucking hard. I think it's perfect  except for the absolute suckiness of the subtitles

I agree, that the subtitles suck and it takes away the thrill when you are immortal... however, I updated the game - and after that the subtitles no longer suck, they fit, but now the font size is very small and hard to read, and there is an option to turn of the reviving tube thingies - so when you die it's game over.

Imo the only suckiness is that when you invent stuff you can't see how much ammo you already have and what the limit are, so you basicly end up wasting materials

Eternal Sonata was ok, kind of fun combat but way too much repititon and the VA was ok, considering you were playing kids.

But if you want a much darker RPG on the 360, may i recommend Lost Odyssey? It's pretty much the opposite of Eternal Sonata. It's from the guy who is responsible for classics like FF VII, Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve etc.

yep, I look forward to get Lost Odyssey, but right now it cost 550 kr (110$) in denmark, I don't wanna give that much for a game.

I dunno if I will finish Eternal Sonata, yesterday I got so sic of it... the story and the characters doesn't take themselves seriously, in the game your on mission, but why the fuck do I have to take on stupid side missions all the time? I went to this underground city, right, and then there is a little girl crying because she have no spring water for her stupid flower, so the party decides to waste their time and get some water for her at the cemetery - why the fuck do i have to spend 2-4 hours collecting stupid springwater when it's not related to the story?!? I haven't done anything as stupid as that since I was forced to collect a shoe in the mountains in one of the Breath of Fire games.

anyway, the script really stink in this game, and during cut scenes you'll see stupid flash backs all the time to stuff you just experienced 5 min's ago, as if you would forget the meaning of the very simple dialogue. It's also funny that whenever the party realize something, you already knew for a few hours - cuz it really isn't all too deep.

but yes, the battle system is nice. And i like the colorful world also, and the music

Hmm, maybe I should see if I can update the game...I didn't think there were any more updates but I'd like to see the "fixed" subtitles. I only had that problem with the inventing machine once, when i made one too many heatseeking missles or something...to tell the truth, I never even really noticed it or thought of it as a problem.

How much did Secret of Mana set you back? I've seen it going for 60 quid over here. Makes me glad I bought it from some random kid for 20p years ago .

I've gotten addicted to Civ IV again. Goddamnit.

I'm also playing Scarface: The World is Yours for Wii, a quite fun GTA clone that allows you more freedom on the business side of things, but less on the civilian killing rampage part.

30 American dollars. Probably the cheapest you'll find it anywhere these days.

2000th post!
