Jet Li rules!!

One of the best Jet Li film I've seen and I have seen loads. Hell I even own close to 30 films of his. The fighting is great especially the blindfolded fight in the field!

War - 5/10

Jet Li's worst movie I've seen.

For its time it was an LOLfest, and I still qualify it as such.

I agree, although i've only seen three of his movies(Ran, Kagemusha, Seven Samurai). I really need to get a hold of Yojimbo, Sanjuro and some of his films.

Yojimbo and Sanjuro are great movies too, but my favourite is still Seven samurai.

Good Will Hunting - 8/10
Thought-provoking and quite funny at the same time. I've seen it 3 times now and it feels like it gets better every time.

The Hours - ???/10
This is some heavy stuff. No special effects, no action, no pretty women, just 3 very sad stories that you won't even be able to tie together unless you watch carefully. I'll probably have to watch it again.

I watched the Prestige again- its such a classic movie, and one in which you notice new clues and aspects every time you watch it- this time, for example, I noticed that the movie is structured into three parts as a magic trick. Beautifully done, and the plot, characters and acting just kickass.

And now I'm really excited for the Dark Knight, which comes out in three weeks and which has received rave reviews so far (the reason I watched the Prestige was in anticipation for the Dark Knight, which has the same director and many of the same actors). I'm pretty sure its going to be one of the best movies of all time- hell, Rolling Stone called it the Godfather 2 of comics movies, which is about as good a review as you can get.

Such a great movie! I'm still amazed it didn't get any Oscar nominations. Definitely my favorite film for 2006. Great lead performances from Jackman and Bale. And then there is Michael Caine, the man simply ennobles every movie that's lucky enough to have him.

I recently saw Raising Arizona. It's got its moments, but it's not as brilliant as Fargo or Big Lebowski. John Goodman was funny as hell though.

Last thing I saw was Teeth. It's utter garbage, barely any gore, crap acting and even worse plot. Damn thing drags on for too long.

I'd be fine if there was excess blood, but no .

The Prestige was OK, it tried so hard to be tricksy that eventually i was just waiting for the end of the movie to explain everything

Touch the Sound - pretty good movie about deaf percussionist Evelyn Glennie, although i would've liked more performance footage and more interviews/informative stuff and less shots of oceans and people walking and so forth.

Be Kind, Rewind - it made me feel happy. and nerdy because i knew most of the scenes they were remaking.

Vanity fair - kinda entertaining but when it ended i wasn't really sure what the point of the movie was. it was centered around Reese Withersppon's character but her character didn't really leave an impression.

That movie was even more boring than I expected it to be. I would imagine the book is better but it probably isn't.

Get Smart--Pretty funny.

I really wanted to see Wanted though. (pun intended!)

Also, Ebert & Roeper said that Wall-E is the best movie of the year . Although now that I think of it, there haven't been any really good movies out this year.

Wall-E is really, really damn good- especially the first 45 minutes and the last 15 (the middle 30 is fun, cutesy kids stuff, but nothing special). Its dystopian vision is pretty freaky for a kids movie, and its surprising how much they can get you to care about a relationship between two robots who can only say about 5 things (alas, no robot sex). I reccomend it.

I can't really say if its best movie of the year, though, as I think the only 2008 releases I've seen have been Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay and Indiana Jones, both of which sucked.
