Yeah, this is a great album and a nice review also Daniel, but....97/100? So you think this one is almoust perfect.... I would have given this 80/100 only, and that is a pretty goddamn good score too. Sometimes it really seems this sites gives way too high scores.

Anyhow, Krieg will quit soon. As I have understood, Blue Miasma album will be their last....

Well, I'm guilty of guving high scores to my favorite albums and well, this is one of them. But check out my last set of reviews, I did 3 and there wasn't one that got 75, all of them where below, so after doing many low scored albums I thought, why not review a high scored album? And yes, I think it's an excellent album, the concept, the music, the brutality; everything is simply amazing.

And yes, Imperial has said that Blue Miasma wil be their last album, yet, he has just released Sono Lo Scherno on Battle Kommand Records.

Here's the info for those interested in this motherfuckin' awesome horde:

Battle Kommand Records presents BKR003
KRIEG - "Sono Lo Scherno" CD now available!
$11US/$13 world (first class in the USA/surface mail world...airmail is extra)

Harsh full length album recorded in 1998, never before released in it's full form! Excellent material from what we consider to be the darkest part of Krieg's musical legacy. Faggots that couldn't tolerate anything before 'The Black House', this is not for you. Worshippers of 'Rise Of The Imperial Hordes', the old Imperial demos, 'The Black Plague' CD, etc...don't miss this.

Paypal orders to: Blake@battlekommand.com
website - www.battlekommand.com

Be sure to check out the distro!

Next rituals:
BKR004 - Cult Of Daath - The Grand Torturers Of Hell CD (w/bonus track)
BKRTS001 - Cult Of Daath - The Grand Torturers Of Hell Tshirt/hoodie
BKR00? - Sapthuran - In Hatred LP
BKR00? - Deathgod Uggae - TBA CD/LP
More to be announced soon....expecting a massive split release to be announced in the next week that many of you may be curious about...check BKR website for updates.

Fuck off.
-Battle Kommand Recs-

So there you have it.

And yes, once again I'll say it; I love this album.

Thanks for the info about the rerelease! Damn, I hope some European distros will carry it...

Anyway, this is Krieg's most mature and complete album without a doubt. Great record; sad to think it's one of the last we'll hear from them, since all their more recent material is pretty much excellent (get the split with Mrte Incandescente and be amazed)...

Here comes another blackmetal band I´ve never listened to. Damn, I thought blackmetal was halfdead but metalreviews have really opened up my eyes lately. I started listening to Taake and it was simply amazing. I would say the scores have been close to spot on. Another good review and another record to put on the wall, it looks great. Keep up the good work. Feels good to give the old Darkthrone, Immortal, Burzum and Ulver records a well deserved rest. Fresh air!

Blackmetal seems to draw geniuses to it like moths to a lightbulb. When do we get an interview with Fenriz, the nicest dude ever.

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the review.

I would just like to remind you (specially the guys new to BM) that this release is brutal and thick and has a certain sense of monotony (not that it's bad).

So people into the melodic or symphonic BM stuff act with caution. This is an amazing album but remember that it is brutal and chaotic when compared to stuff like Taake or Emperor. Even so, this is the first Krieg album you should get. HIGHLY RECOMENDED.

Changing a bit the topic, I would love to hear what keeps The Black House from getting a higher score for you Skartasis. (This is no fighting, I'm being honest in wanting to hear your opinion.)

I find this album great. It is fuckin' violent and brutal, it has some amazing riffs, the drum work is minimal but I love the way he abuses the cymbals at times, the vocals are some of the best I've heard and the atmosphere is very dark and despereate. Add to that the album's "concept", the fuckin' killer VU cover, the artwork and you have one of the best releases of 04 and of the XXI century.

Hails to the Black Noise terror machine Krieg!!!!

HAILS!!!!

How about reviewing Patick Bateman, man? That's for sure one of the rawest, sickest and most violently insane stuff I've ever heard. The first time I listened to it I was positively shocked and shivering!

Mostly personal tastes I guess. I prefer more...er...moody BM over violent and brutal ones. But from these violent and brutal ones Krieg is still on of the best. Cant really explain it any better than that, never been that good with words....

I'm in exactly the same position, I'm not really fornd of most aggressive BM, but this makes a difference because it has some little malancholic BM elements. It's a good album: 60 / 100

I'm exactly like you guys, I preffer moody, melancholic and hypnotic Black Metal, but what made this album score so high was the fact that I loved the album eve though it is brutal and violent. It managed to engulf me and consume me even though it doesn't focus on hypnotic song structures.

I have been worshipping this album almost daily for some months now, and I'm still hooked and amazed.

Excellent album.

But, to each it's own....

I have had some time to listen to it now and I must say it´s good stuff. Imperial ( I guess he is the singer) does some of the best singing I have heard for quite a while. Things are starting to look damn fine overseas. Never thought it was possible but now it is a fact. USA + blackmetal = true. The only thing I don´t like about the record is the soundmixing wich is quite heavy on the bass and lacking in treble. But some eq adjustments fixes that and then it´s pure bliss. I would say -2 points and a 95 for that. Excellent record and a beautifull well written review.

Thank you for the kind words Nyarlathotep.

And yes, I agree, Imperial is one hell of a singer, probably one of the most intense ones at the moment. For those interested in more Imperial try the band Weltmacht. The line-up is quite impressive:

Imperial (Krieg): Vocals
Akhenaten (Judas Iscariot): Guitars, Bass and Keyboards
Cryptic Winter (Judas Iscariot): Drums

Their album And to Every Beast It's Prey is very good, although I preffer Krieg and Judas Iscariot by their own.

I like the way you rate Gast ! other reviewers put way too high rates on sometimes average albums...
