Aside from the two ballads, this is pretty good stuff. I do wish there were some more keys though. Also, I've heard the Stratovarius versions of these songs and considering they were demos they are of excellent quality and almost as good as the versions found on this release. This album just has a slicker production and various singers to make things a bit more interesting.

Not expecting a lot but still want to hear it given who's on it. As far as power metal the new Powerquest is a good cd.

Do you think the new Strato album (if it happens) will be all jazz fusion now that Jens seems to have taken the commander's chair?

Wait are they using the Stratovarius name I thought Tolkki had rights to that name.

I listened to all of the samples that Tolkki posted from this CD and I wasn't impressed. I know it's not fair to criticize the entire CD based upon samples but they just didn't strike me as being very strong material. He seems to have lost his way big time.

Appearently Tolkki gave them the rights to the name, though they still have the financial mess he left them with to deal with too :(.

What an amazing release! I honestly had no expectations at all after all the rumous and shit-talking about Timo Tolki and his Rev.Res. project. After only 1 spin and I'm totally blown away by this. There's so much catchinesss and melody in here it's crazy. The compositions are solid, the musicianship outstanding (especially the solos), there's a variety of rythms from fast to slower songs, Tobias Sammet sings pretty good as usually eventhough his songs are a bit on the cheesy side (typical for T. Sammet). And what can I say about Mikael Kiske.... this man sings so beautifully it's insane, his voice is as crystal clear and potent as ever, full of power and passion. Without any doubt, Kiske's songs are the highlights of the album. All in all, I was more than pleased with this! 92/100 for me only after 1 spin!

Last night on earth is the best track. The rest are ok, not quite on par with visions era strato. Vocals sound great though.

Here's fellow colleague John's review (for a quick 2nd opinion):

... looks like he's not too impressed.

I need to get it spinning asap.

M Kiske 10/10 He's the drawcard here for sure actually the vocals overall are the highlight here.
Cd 6/10 It's just Stratovarius( with different band members besides Timo) except for the lack of keyboards but they sound so much the same so why change the name? Not that I don't mind Strat(especially Jens) I like them but there are tracks on here that except for the lyrics sound very similar to past ones eg.listen to "We are Magic" and then listen to Strat's "Paradise".

I just heard the demos, and I think it sounds way better with timo kotipelto on vocals. (I'm not saying that the vocalists are bad on this, because they are all legends in their own right, the material just better suits kotipelto's voice, besides i think kiske only does this anymore for a quick buck.)
