What the hell is the deal with the hype surrounding this film? I mean, come on. It's a Batman film. Sure, Batman Begins was kind of good, but it was nowhere near one of the better action films I've ever seen. The only thing that's really cool about The Dark Knight is Heath Ledger playing The Joker, he looks really disturbing in the role.

I think it's a Heath Ledger post-demise sainthood kind of thang.

Heath Ledger's voice sounds funny, like abnormal high pitch, in the trailers. Anyways, it's being hyped since the movie is supposed to be really good and it's Batman. With Iron Man, the Hulk, Hellboy and Batman, this summer could be the best for comic book movies.

Unbelievably stupid story (they took orders from a fucking loom!) and the action....yeah if people holding guns at funny angles and walking in slo-mo is your thing, I guess I can see why you'd like that.

Batman is awesome- my favourite superhero. Chris Nolan is one of the best directors around and hasn't released a bad movie yet. Batman Begins is the best superhero movie I've seen (though not because of the action, which was admittedly rather stale). This one's supposed to be even better. And yes, Heath Ledger, who's supposed to be awesome in the role. Throw in my favourite superhero villain (I won't spoil it for you non comics readers, though most people will be able to guess who it is since its not the Joker) and the fact that the movie is apparently extremely intelligent and explores the repercussions of having a masked vigilante protecting a city and this looks like one of the best movies in a long time.

indeed, Christopher Nolan is another reason to watch the movie. Besides BB (which was awesome), he also made The Prestige and Memento, all great movies.

as for the action in BB i think it was just enough to make it entertaining in that sense without getting in the way of the story/development.

He's my favourite too, cause Batman manages to avoid the gayness of others like Superman or Spiderman, besides the fact that Batman has the best villians of all the Marvel stuff. My favourite film was Batman Forever though, because of the killer performances of Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey in it. Also, Nicole Kidman was utterly fuckable in that movie.

You're completely and utterly wrong about TLJ and JC. Have you watched the first two films? TLC was a bad imitation of Jack's Joker, whilst Jim Carrey's been doing the same tired shit for most of his career.

Still, as you said, that was the hottest that Kidman has ever, ever been...

I watched Mutant Chronicles yesterday... bleah I was not impressed. A big mess of a movie but not bad either.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - hyperactive + unpredictable comedy/thriller. soooo good.

Noise - Good Australian mystery/drama. Pretty damn dark. 7.5/10

I'm going to have to agree. I don't hate Forever as much as many do (its pretty much a fun popcorn movie), but they really wrecked Two-Face, who is supposed to be somber and obsessed with duality, luck and his version of justice- instead, they did just turn him and the Riddler into Joker lite.

That movie was good. Val Kilmer playing a fag is hilarious and not that far of a stretch and I never realized how good of an actor Robert Downey Jr. was until this movie.

Supposed to be going to see Batman tomorrow at midnight.

I thought that this movie tried too hard to be cool. But it was still pretty good.

I watched the new Rambo again, this time not at 3 am. So I got to actually watch it instead of struggling to stay awake. Even though, I still feel the same about it.

And I am going to see Batman on friday, cant wait for that.

I too am looking forward to the new BATMAN.

I watched Rocky Balboa. Why did Sly direct? It was shit, and mainly due to the direction, I really liked the first half of the film though.

Plus, for it to be a Rocky film you need Eye of the Tiger and a final slo-mo knockout punch.

Plus, Sly looks fucking wierd as hell, wrinkly muscles, massive deformed eyebrows and a fucked up face all to match his wierd voice. What the hell happened?

Inside - A fucked up French movie. A woman is hell-bent on taking another woman's baby out of her. The characters in this film don't make it out too well.

Lady Vengeance

OK, I'll conceed since I still have to watch the first two films so you may be right, but I like their performances in the film, especially JC who sucks in every other film he's ever done, except for The Mask.

Meh, he can act when he wants. I liked his performances in Man On The Moon and Eternal Sunshine. Even 23 wasn't the shitfest it could have been...
