What a good film! I highly enjoyed it.

I hate to admit it, but yes it is a good film.

FF VII: Advent Children

Pretty pointless. They took the characters, dumbed them down, forced out some unrecognizable semblance of a story; like they threw shit at a wall to see what would stick, and just ran with it. It didn't make any sense, was extremely fragmented, and very inconsistent with the game.

That being said, it was really pretty to look at, and the action scenes were neat. It was, at the most basic level, a fanservice, and I think that's what bothers me most about it.

Royal Tennebaums - i find it really hard not to smile through Wes Anderson's movies. both hilarious and touching.

American Psycho 2: Avoid with extreme prejudice. It has the bitchy female character from That 70s Show as a serial killer and has absolutely nothing to do with the first movie besides a five minute scene.

Super High Me

A "documentary" about a "comedian" that "smokes" weed for 30 days.

Ok. So first of all, the film provides you with basically zero information about how weed affects your health, it just shows this asshole pretending to smoke weed for 30 days and talking about how cool it is to smoke weed and generally slob around.

Second of all, this guy is shit. The only reason he made this film is to jumpstart his shitcareer.

Finally, he doesn't inhale the smoke when he's "smoking." All he does is puff up his cheeks, making him look like a fucking shitmunk, then he blows it out while looking like a dick.

I guess it's pretty good if you're stoned, or if you're interested in watching a gimmicky shitfilm about how cool smoking weed is, otherwise it's shit.

Saw a shitload of movies during my night shifts at the hotel. Here is a part of thel:

The dark knight 8/10 (Joker ruled but Batman pissed me off, his voice is just embarrassing)

Shaun of the dead 6/10 (Had some good moments but wasn't a very succesful parody of the brilliant original)

The 40 year old virgin 8/10 (Very enjoyable comedy)

La Haine 9/10 (Great movie, strong performances, kinda hated Vincent Cassels character though)

The skeleton key 3/10 (Utter crap, received those few points because of the setting)

The Amityville Horror: Not even going to rate this a 0/10, it's just a total waste of time watching it.

Tide Land: 7/10 (Nice adaption on Alice in Wonderland, but I expected more from Gilliam)

Goal: 0/10 (No, just NO!)

Easter Promises 7,5/10 (Good movie, strong performance by Viggo but the ending kinda sucked, they could tell so much more, so much to do with the whole undercover angle)

The Good Shepherd: 8/10 (Good movie, despite having that enormous twat Matt Damon playing the main character)

Salvador: 8/10 (Good movie, the German actor, forgot his name, was pretty impressive just like in Goodbye Lenin)

This were all the ones i could remember.

Ah, La Haine is wonderful. It's one of those films you can watch over and over again because it's packed with so much substance. Strangely, I've only seen it once, lol.

Hmm, i'm wondering if 6/10 was a little too low, but to give it a perfect score? Zombies+comedy is a great combo but the jokes were often too cheap/easy.

Road Trip - the first time i saw it i thought it was hilarious, but then again i was 16 or so back then. saw it again today and while it wasn't that funny it still had its moments, especially the snake feeding part. defintely worth watching if you haven't seen it before.

The Deerhunter 9/10: Fucking gut-wrenching. De Niro is one of the best and Walken even dwarfed him in some scenes

Superman Returns 3/10: Lamer than my three legged cat.

That film fucks your mind up.
I watched Wayne's World again and nearly cried with nostalgia, it's so fucking funny.

The Ultimate Killing Machine - if Madsen is the main star, then you better be expecting a bad movie

Drillbit Tayler - alright, but I wont see it again

Mr. Brooks - pretty damn good, but far from perfect

Dexter - season 2 episodes 3 and 4

Yeah, but then you gave 40 Year Old Virgin 8/10...

RW:

Walk Hard: Dewey Cox Story - not bad at all, quite funny. Wouldn't watch it twice though.
Vantage Point - nearly decent, but plot gets buggered towards the end. Plus, Spoiler, Jack from Lost as an Islamic terrorwrist? Eh?
and watched The Shining again. Awesome.

Shaun of the Dead is 7/10 IMO... not really worthy of much more than that.

House of Usher 5/10. New interpretation of Poe which wasn't too bad but it was definitely low budget and bad acting.

...seriously, dude?

Anyways.

In Bruges: 10/10! Best balance of action, comedy, and drama I've seen in any movie. Colin Farrell is great, he gains a few points in my book after this one. Also, the Flannery O'Connor-like ending is maybe the best ever and the main reason why this film is awesome--there are a lot of really good movies where the ending doesn't quite satisfy and thus the whole movie is kind of made worse. Yay In Bruges
