Pretty pointless. They took the characters, dumbed them down, forced out some unrecognizable semblance of a story; like they threw shit at a wall to see what would stick, and just ran with it. It didn't make any sense, was extremely fragmented, and very inconsistent with the game.

That being said, it was really pretty to look at, and the action scenes were neat. It was, at the most basic level, a fanservice, and I think that's what bothers me most about it.

+1, basically I was just waiting for the fight scene with Sephiroth with that awesome song One Winged Angel.

The Cohen brothers have a very love-it-or-hate-it style. I think it kicks ass, personally. No Country For Old Men was one of their best.

And the thing the movie industry needs help with are prequels, sequels, threequels, superhero movies, and nostalgia cash-ins. No Country For Old Men was a huge releif from the absolute cinematic dreck that clogs the arteries of the movie industry today.

Fucking definitely, it was an amazing movie, in fact I can't remember that last film that got nominated/won an oscar and actually deserved it before this. Besides the fact that the acting was incredible, I also loved the fact that the story broke the whole convention of the main character being an indestructible hero with the villian inevitably being defeated. Definitely a breath of fresh air.

Finally watched Dark Knight, and IMO it was a bit overhyped. Joker ruled, and I'll go see the film again just to watch him, but let's face it: Bale was boring, the deep throat thing with Batman was just plain gay, the ending sucked (Two Face dies ffs) and it wasn't as brutal as I was expecting. If the film plot/direction was suited for an 18 rating, it could have been a modern classic, but the fact is that without Joker this movie would have been forgettable at best.

But Heath Ledger gave an awesome performance, this Joker is easily the best Batman villian, or even the best superhero villian.

Why thank you, Captain Spoiler.

...seriously, dude?

Anyways.

In Bruges: 10/10! Best balance of action, comedy, and drama I've seen in any movie. Colin Farrell is great, he gains a few points in my book after this one. Also, the Flannery O'Connor-like ending is maybe the best ever and the main reason why this film is awesome--there are a lot of really good movies where the ending doesn't quite satisfy and thus the whole movie is kind of made worse. Yay In Bruges

Personally, I found the Good Shepard very dragging, the film was definitely too long. Recently just watched Jet Li's Unleashed, and fuck me, the dude has some acting talent.

Dragging? a little, but that was just like real life in the Cold War :P

I really liked In Bruges, actually. Except, I thought the final scene was slightly contrived.

Yup. Good film though. Brendan Gleeson is great even when he's not wearing a wig and a fake beard.

good luck, chuck.

Jessica Alba is just too hot.

Anyways. Pretty fun until he flips out. Stupid, and to overdramatic. I think ms. Alba overplays some of the scenes a bit to much. But she's forgiven

A Space Oddessey

most boring shit I have ever seen! The intro is cool, and some of music and some of the shots are awsome... but other than that, two and half hour of people walking slowly, or running around in gigantic treadmills.... This is not a movie, this is an introduktion to life in space.. weee... booooooooooriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!

I don't think anyone "gets" that film the first time they see it, especially if they don't understand what's actually going on. Read some of the story behind it, and watch it again. I don't often watch films more than once, but I've seen that one eight times. In many ways, it's the best film I've ever seen.

yeah, usually movies that get nominated for Best Picture aren't completely bad, but it's pretty rare that the one that wins is actually the best movie that year. i haven't seen everything i've wanted to see from 2007 yet but so far No Country is probably the best

Two face didn't necessarily die.

Space Odyssey was boring. The death scenes were cool though.

Pan's Labyrinth was the best movie of 2007.

Watched the first Rambo movie again tonight. Cheesy but fun.

The last "new" movie I watched was Lost Boys - The Tribe. You wouldn't figure it could done, but they managed to make an even dumber, dorkier, stupidier (great english aye?) follow-up to the first one, but yeah it was...

Wikipedia tells me that you are correct.

I didn't like any movies from last year besides 3:10 to Yuma and that wasn't Oscar worthy. Atonement was trash and There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men didn't catch me enough to finish either. I've seen parts and they didn't do anything for me.
