...seriously, dude?

Personally, I found the Good Shepard very dragging, the film was definitely too long. Recently just watched Jet Li's Unleashed, and fuck me, the dude has some acting talent.

I agree with your comment about The Good Shepherd, what I was trying to express with my post is disbelief that he thought The Good Shepherd was as good as The Dark Knight/The 40 Year Old Virgin. Also I was very surprised by the quality of Unleashed, maybe the best martial arts movie I've ever seen. Jet Li gained my respect from that movie.

Wanted - crap. the story sucked, the guy went from mild-mannered accountant to "badass" (read: a bit less of a pussy) literally overnight, angelina jolie can't act, the commentaries about his dead-end job and shit were trying way too hard to be edgy and finally the action scenes weren't that special. i don't mind the curved bullets (that's far from the dumbest thing i've seen in action movies), it's just that it's not that interesting. they could have done much more.

Yeah, why the fuck is this film getting so much praise? Half-way through I just wanted to turn it off, there was nothing there to keep me watching, not interesting at all. The plot was OK, I guess, but they handled it like shit, the presentation was tame and it couldn't keep my attention, which is kind of fucked considering it's an action film. Also, the acting was some of the shittiest I've seen in recent hollywood films. Morgan Freeman did his standard performance, but the rest were just shit, none of them had any screen presence, especially not the dude in the lead role. Shit.

I guess no-one should click on this thread then, in case someone spoils a film? Christ, it's not hard to put it in small writing.

Can't you change the name of the topic? Because it's kind of stupid to mark such a large topic with a spoiler warning. And honestly, it's just common sense not to spoil a film like The Dark Knight when everyone obviously is looking forward to seeing it.

Just a reminder, they were getting their contracts from a loom. The plot was the weakest point of the movie. But it was fun to watch without looking for the sort of features that would win it awards, and be honest, when he hit the dude with the keyboard it was awesome.

Oh, yeah! I totally forgot about the binary code and the whole deal with the loom, that shit is fucked.

Was the film based on a book? I can't imagine someone writing a movie script involving a loom deciding peoples' destinies.

EDIT- Apparently it was based on a comic book, which makes sense really.

I remember the first time i saw it. I didn't know it was a portrait of a real guy, so I thought it was pretty crappy and I didn't understand why Jim Carrey would do this sort of weird comedy. But I like the movie nowadays... If you go to youtube you can also watch the real Andy Kaufman doing the stuff Jim Carrey did in the movie, including the fight with the wrestler on David Letterman :D

I think I would descibe Andy Kaufman as a comedy troll - a guy who was greatly amused when he could piss people off with retarded stuff... either that or he just had a really weird form of humour.

Jaws, Jaws 2, and 20 minutes of Jaws 3.

I could only do 20 minutes of Jaws 3 because you can only watch so much Jaws in one sitting.

I thought it was nothing great but pretty entertaining. I thought the action was definitely above-average and the story at least not-retarded.

i have to disagree. i mean there were some nice action scenes, but the story was beyond retarded. wtf taking orders from a loom? the way they pick up Wesley? all that training, they haven't heard of bombs, poison, etc?

don't even get me started on the dialogues and Wesley's "edgy" commentaries on his dead-end job.

Pineapple Express: 8.5/10. Really really funny, but not quite a classic like Superbad or the 40 Year Old Virgin.

The Waterboy

and what made Superbad such a classic? I'll admit that 40 year Old Virgin is up there, but Superbad? I liked it, but no where do I find it to be a classic.

Not tryin to start shit, just wondering.

I still say Superbad's the worst movie I've ever seen.

I'll still say most of the people here should laugh at instead of analyze brainless movies.

EDIT - Superbad = classic

I think of it like "Fast Times" or whatever for the 80's generation. It's not the greatest movie ever but it's damn funny and it does kind of represent this generation like Fast Times did. That's what makes it a classic for me.

Watched "As Good as it Gets". DAMN good romantic comedy. Funny as hell in some parts and just really good overall.
