I decided to give Lala.com's new download service a try yesterday so I "legally" downloaded a few CD's:

1. Moonspell: Eternal Night
2. Warrel Dane: Praises To The War Machine
3. Communic: Payment of Existence
4. Scar Symmetry: Holographic Universe
5. Edenbridge: My Earth Dream
6. Krypteria: Blood Angel's Cry

I then ventured over to "The Laser's Edge.com" and picked these up from their clearance section:

1. Thalion: Another Sun
2. Skyfire: Spectral
3. After Forever: Remagine
4. Magnitude 9: Reality In Focus
5. Symphorce: Become Death

Five excellent albums. The worst is probably Thalion, though it's very good. And Kiske is on it (what isn't he on?).

Thanks for the thumbs up on these. Thalion was the one band that I could not find a sample for but because of Kiske and the reviews I did find, I thought I would give it a shot. I mean, at $5 you really can't lose. The samples that I listened to for the other five were awesome. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on Skyfire and Magnitude 9.

I previewed all of Blaze Bayley's new CD "The Man Who Would Not Die" over at Lala.com this morning. I was so impressed with this one I had to buy it. :dio:

My package from The Laser's Edge just showed up. I'm ripping Magnitude 9's CD onto the computer. So far it sounds great. :dio:

Today I bought an Amon Amarth t-shirt and just a few days ago I got a couple of CDs in the mail:

Evocation: Tales from the tomb
Amon Amarth - The Avenger (supposed to get The Crusher to but it wasn't in stock at the moment)
Impaled - Death after life

Hey people I need some advice. I bought a copy of After Forever's "Remagine" and there's something on the cd that's preventing me from ripping it onto my hard-drive. Is there anyway around this? I would like to put the cd on my mp3 player. I've tried ripping it with Windows Media Player, Itunes, and my Rhapsody MP3 software.

I'm damn frustrated.

Copy right protection... I'm not a computer expert, but doesn't it work to just open the CD in windows explorer and copy the files from there?

The best way to bypass these copy protections that I know is to rip The CD using Linux as an Operating System instead of Windows. But not everybody knows how to install and use Linux so I doubt it's a good solution for you.

The other way That I know of that works in windows is to use a software that will copy the music from it's output. meaning you play the CD and it will re-record each song. I have used that method once before and it worked great. Unfortunately I don remember the name of the software I used.

I just ordered Amon Amarths upcoming album Twilight Of The Thunder God, some 2CD+DVD special thingy, together with some cheap stuff:
Cattle Decapitation - To Serve Man
Severe Torture - Misanthropic Carnage
The AA album was 100 Swedish krones (15 bucks) more expensive than the "regular" one, but I think the band's worth it.

Good call. That worked. I opened "My Computer", right clicked on my cd-rom drive, opened the cd files, and then copied them into the "My Music" folder.
