Major event! I see Ross hasn't gotten over his "I'm Important" disease.

Good album, though.

Can't stand this type of music.

I know that was a worthless comment.

Those Black Metal scum, how dare they complain about Shagrath playing Biker Rock. Clearly none of them have ever heard it before and they're just afraid of change.

Or maybe not.

Okay, it looks like some of you are kinda confused as to why I have deemed this as a MAJOR EVENT! Chrome Division has been labelled as a Shagrath Side Project; the fact is that such a major player in the music business switching from vocalist in one of the top Black Metal bands to rhythm guitarist in a Rock ‘n’ roll band could be construed as a Major Event in itself. However, there is no ‘I’ in band so one must look at the other band members. Drummer – Tony White; Related Bands - Minas Tirith, Old Man’s Child. Vox – Eddie Guz; Related Band – The Carburators. Bass Guitarist – Björn Luna; Related Bands - Ashes to Ashes, Sideburn Satan, Trashcan Darlings. Lead Guitarist – Ricky Black; Related Band – Hot Muffins (Okay, not so well known outside Norway). So, the coming together of these artistes, from all these different bands, some very well known and respected in their particular musical genre, mostly playing music that is nowhere near Chrome Divisions’ style of Rock ‘n’ Roll is quite spectacular in itself. The fact that they have pretty much stayed together, are now key players in the Rock ‘n’ Roll scene and have produced a second stonking album is quite a MAJOR EVENT in my books! Now, let me quote the Metal Reviews dot Com criteria that must be met for a band to be awarded a MAJOR EVENT Skeleton - Use this for major acts of the scene (wherever good or bad review) – The question I had to ask myself is “Do I think Chrome Division is a major act of the Rock ‘n’ Roll scene?” and my answer was “Fucking Right!” Hopefully this explains that a MAJOR EVENT Skeleton is awarded to the band not the album and my reason for awarding it to Chrome Division.

Right, I’ve gave y’all my explanation now perhaps Afro Lint would be kind enough to explain why he believes I suffer from “I’m Important” disease and feels the need to include childish personal insults when he comments on reviews I’ve written. It would be enlightening not only for me to know why you hate me so much, but I’m sure other Forumites would also be interested.

I tend to keep 'Major Event' labels for name bands, the sort that most Metalheads will immediately know of, and the ones that are giants in their genre. Eg: Ministry - name band, giants in the Industrial scene. I've just put up a review for the new Moonspell - name band, giants in both the Portuguese and worldwide Goth Metal scene...

Perhaps it's down to my lack of knowledge of the Norwegian r'n'r scene, but I've never heard of The Carburators, Ashes to Ashes, Sideburn Satan, Trashcan Darlings, or Hot Muffins. Were it up to me, I'd have put a new Dimmu as a major event, but not this. Still, you've explained your reasoning and it seems ok to me.

I did like that Serial Killer track from the first album, so I might check this out. Trouble is, as I hinted in my above comment, it's hardly original stuff, and I'm just getting into more punky/crusty music at the moment that kicks this into orbit.

Good review though, Ross. And Ken, that was more than a little out of order...

Can't an album be both a "major event" and a "crap of the month" ? Shit Anger & Nostrahanus come to my mind

Well, since it's Ken I'm pretty sure no one is shocked you and him aren't getting along swimmingly.

As for this album, I liked it at first but it got real boring for me real quick (55/100). To me, Shag should keep his day job. Just my opinion, of course.
