I realize this may get a laugh out of a lot of you, but there's many games where you can have a real career playing. Obviously not Guitar Hero, as there's not large gaming summits held for that, but titles like Counter Strike, Halo, and other big FPS games can net you a career making good money.

People can earn living wages that are comparable to full time careers and even better playing on numerous console and PC gaming circuits like MLG or CPL, or also selling their services to others to improve their gaming. It's not the most common thing, and you shouldn't abandon your education or anything, but it's not fiction. As the years go on, gaming for cash like this is becoming more and more popular and profitable.

That's just moronic... the video games exist just to be a fun way to kill some time. I'll never understand those guys whom are yelling and screaming at the video games, if I'm not having fun while playing it... why play it?

TBH, this does happen to me occasionally, but that's cause of a frustrating part in an otherwise fun experience. The game which pissed me off the most in recent memory has to be GTA4.

I can't begin to explain how embarrassing this story is for me. I live about 15 minutes outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. To know that I live within proximity of these morons just scares the crap out of me. What's even more staggering is that this area has one of the highest concentrations of universities in the US and this place is just loaded with "educated" people. I can't imagine what parent lets this kind of thing happen? What kind of message are they sending to their idiot kid? I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. If my son ever asked me if he could do something like this he knows he would hear, " Are you kidding me? Get your head back into your school work and shut the game off!"

Ah, just one more incredibly ignorant step in the wrong direction for the US. Does the rest of the world really wonder why we're considered spoiled and dumb?

Please, when I write things like that I don't want people to think that I am painting every American with that same broad paint brush. I'm not. However, we do have an ever increasing base of high school graduates that are just as dumb as rocks.

What I find really hilarious about this is that the parents did it to stop their son complaining about having to go to school. I mean, what the hell could they have been thinking? Do they not realize that nearly every single high school student complains about going to school and that many of them would rather hang out with friends or play video games? And thats what parents and teachers are for, to push the kid through for an education even though he's too immature to want it because he's a bloody teenager!
