We took my son to go see Star Wars: The Clone Wars this past weekend. If you're a die-hard Star Wars fan then you will love seeing another chapter in the story coming to the screen. If you're a casual Star Wars fan then this probably will not be a good movie experience for you and you should wait until you're bored as hell when the movie hits DVD by the end of the year.

We're die-hard Star Wars in my house so it was a must see. We loved it. Obi-Wan shows more levels of his strong confident personality and Ventress is the most bad ass Sith wanna-be that should have madeit into one of the live action films. I think she's cooler than Darth Maul and way more interesting than Dooku.

in another forum a discussion sprung up about The Man From Earth, an independent movie about a guy who stopped aging when he was 30-ish.

personally i think it's insanely overrated, but everyone else was practically jerking off to it. what did you guys think?

Superbad

The bit when the fat kid's talking to his Home Ec teacher and keeps swearing had tears in my eyes because I was laughing that badly.

I'm a hardcore Star Wars fan, but I'm going to wait till this one's on video and rent it- Lucas ain't getting any more money from me.

And more interesting than Christopher Lee? Impossible!

Mozart and the Whale - cute movie. bad stuff is that Josh Hartnett was way better than the chick and the portrayal of autism/asperger's was overdone/unrealistic

Watched Saw IV a few days ago, awesome film, the Saws never get old for me.

And I also watched Dark Harvest, typical stupid horror, but differs in that they don't bother trying to scare you with corny ambushes and stuff and that most of the jokes are actually good.

Christopher Lee's talents as an actor are great. I'm not calling that into question at all. What I am calling into question is George Lucas concentrating too much attention to a character that he's given little to zero importance to. We all knew that Darth Vader was on the rise and that Dooku would never survive. Plus, the lines that George provided for Dooku were terrible (as with most of the dialogue that Lucas writes). Even Christopher Lee couldn't make Dooku into a dark foreboding character. He was a stiff that you knew was going to get killed off and he was just too old. Ventress's character was presented to be absolutely ruthless in her quest to be the next big deal Sith. I just feel that Ventress could have been a better character for the live action Star Wars films instead of Dooku and Darth Maul.

I have to agree. Darth Maul should have been allowed to evolve as a character. I would rather have seen him orchestrating the impending end of the Jedi and Republic along with Sidious instead of Dooku. And, how many lines did he give Maul? Three? Lucas is just ridiculous.

I can't remember Ventress in the movie. What scenes was she in?

Alone in the Dark: crapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcraaaaaaaap!

I'm planning a "Trilogy-movie-day" soon, anything that I really should have for this, beside the obvious ones like LOTR?

Alone in the Dark: agreed, one of the worst movies i've ever seen. first and last time i saw anything with Uwe Boll's name on it.

Trilogies: haven't seen it yet, but i heard the Infernal Affairs movies are really good. The Departed is based on IA #1, i think.

Also check out the Vengeance trilogy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Lady Vengeance and Oldboy. It's not really a trilogy, but some consider it one because all of them handle the same subject.

The Cube trilogy, the first film in the trilogy is one of my favourite films ever. Unfortunately the third one is kind of shitty, but it's worth watching.

She's been in the animated series from Cartoon Network (which is now on DVD) and she was featured in the new animated movie the Clone Wars.

Lucky Number Slevin - 5/10. I predicted the ending 20 minutes into it.

Plus one for the Vengeance trilogy. Die Hard and Back To The Future are good pics as well.
