There's no way anyone can grasp it on any watch. It doesn't make any sense.

I actually did look it up on Wikipedia and knowing what's actually happening, there's no way that you could know just from watching the movie.

Tell me what happened in the movie. Without looking it up on Wikipedia.

I do love that movie a lot, and I've seen it many times but it is very true that the plot makes absolutely no sense unless someone explains it to you.

I hate that movie because it is a bunch of pseudo-science that made people think they were so smart that they understood it. Ultimately it was a decent movie only because of Frank.

Exactly! I mean, if your normal film fare consists of Will Ferrell comedies, I can see where you might have difficulty, but considering that a good 50% of what I watch is either not in English or downright weird, Donnie Darko was fairly straightforward. Kids nowadays are spoilt.

There's a lot more to it than that, but most of it is impossible to understand if you don't read about it first. I think it's a great film no matter how much of it you understand, and if you want to learn more about the film (the tangent universe, the manipulated others) you can, but it's not necessary to know about all that crap to enjoy the film. I think it's similar to Mulholland Drive in that sense.

Exactly. Zad, I'm laughing at you right now because you think you understood the film because you figured out that the plane went back in time. Although nobody would know it unless they looked it up, there was also a whole other deal about how Donnie was a prophet with some supernatural powers or some shit. I dunno, it's been a long time since I watched it/looked it up.

That being said, it's still a very enjoyable movie.

That is exactly how fans of that movie ruined it for people like myself.

Well forgive me for not caring about a movie's subtext that is only known to IMDB forum-dwellers, and that makes no difference to the film itself.

Dead Alive is the best movie ever, I've watched it like 1000 times and it still makes me laugh.

Rendition... Pretty good, but a bad ending in my opinion... I want to know what happened further.

Pretty funny, the stereotypical fat metalhead was amusing.

Good point.

Although it still shows that you didn't get the whole movie, despite being Mr. Awesome-Krieg Movie Watcher.

Thanks, I'll be sure to check it out. Is it always the sort of satirical heavy metal/satanism thing?
