Think I must agree with you there. When I saw Gladiator not long ago, I didn't think it was as good as it had been before. Not sure why, though... :D

Finally, I got tired of being the only one saying that Gladiator is fucking overrated, and that the likes of Ben Hur run circles around it.

I like Gladiator, it's very slow at times, but the good parts outweigh the bad ones, I think. Ben Hur is definitely better though, and so is Spartacus, which is basically the same film as Gladiator, just a million times better in every way.

...seriously? I have an extremely hard time believing that ANY action movie that came out in the 50's-60's could even compete with something released more recently, especially Gladiator.

Yes, I've seen Seven Samurai and it was fucking boring.

Heat.

Veeeery long. If you can sit through the first half, which is a bit boring, it really picks up.

Well, it's something you'll have to learn to appreciate, in the end, it's worth it. For example, Spartacus has much more emotional depth and character depth than Gladiator, something that's lacking in very many modern action films. Those things are basically what makes a film great, in my opinion. Personally, I rarely watch anything that's considered action these days. The fast-paced CGI films with the same old characters just don't do anything for me anymore.

I love how Henry Rollins role in that movie was to solely get his ass kicked by Pacino.

And I'll be watching [REC] soon.

Eagle Eye - I really liked it! I am quite infatuated with Shia, though. But I found it really exciting.

Max Payne - Ahaha. ooh dear. SOO cheesey. holy crap! It was... okay. Didn't quite follow the plot line of the game, but I could still follow. And there was a lead up to a sequal, joyyy.

for some reason i just can't stand mark wahlberg. i mean he was awesome in The Departed, but i really started disliking him after i saw that turd The Italian Job.

The Italian Job wasn't that bad...actually pretty good. Fantastic cast. Mark Wahlberg is a badass. Although yeah, he hasn't been good in much besides The Departed, now that I think of it. Maybe The Basketball Diaries, but that hardly counts.

Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch 4 lyfe

The violence and swearing seemed almost forced. Good moments, but it was a little too "preachy" (not the exact word I'm looking for, but close), and needlessly vulgar... And I've never called a movie needlessly vulgar before. Like I said, it just seemed forced, like it was all there just so it could be rated R.

The happening - I didn't think it was as bad as people have made it out to be. first half was decent, the ending was kinda lame as well as the obligatory twist ending/sequel opening teaser. 6/10

Be Kind Rewind - The films they make are hilarious, it's a little cheesy but nice and heartwarming. ^_^ 7.5/10

Iron Man - Good solid action move and Robert Downey Jr. as usual (since he got off teh drugs) puts in a solid performance. 8/10

Prom Night (remake) - ... 1/10

Dawn of the Dead (remake) - ...so most of them die, and a few make it out on the boat... but then the ones on the boat get to the island and die...? In crappy jittery snippets over the credits? So what was the point of the movie? 2/10 for having some good gore.

the point is Sarah Polley  . and yeah, cool gore. i forgot the ending, but i remember enjoying the movie a lot.

The Go-Getters - zomg indie. i could relate to the part where the main guy falls in love with the slutty girl only to be reminded that she's slutty :[

Shortcuts - a movie based on a bunch of Raymond Carver's short stories. some of the stories are great, others are ok and at like 3 hours long with 30000000000 characters its a little dense... would've been a great movie if they'd trimmed the weakest stories off.
