That sucks! C&C3 was such a big improvement over Generals. I still need to get the expansion pack for it though.

Plus, it still has Kane!

Heard bad things about Generals, that's why I skipped it. Loved Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun, etc, in the old days. And yes, Kane is a badass.

Indeed, it was trying too much to be Age of Empires. Not cool at all. I prefer the Red Alert series for the simple reason of naval combat, so RA3 is something I'm looking forward to getting.

Ha sorry, with Fallout 3 being so damn good I honestly don't know. Plus Gears of War 2 comes out in just over a week, so i'm guessing it needs to be quick. Also my hours are so weird for work that I can't set a date/time to play. But yes it will happen.

Haha, no worries, we'll just have to play co-op horde mode on Gears 2 then.

That will definitely happen, probably more than once.

Uuh, can I join too?

hells yes

Oh man, we really need to get some people together for this. Playing it split-screen with a friend was awesome, so I can imagine playing with 4 other people would be great!

Yeah, that would be awesome. But, I aint gonna buy Gears right away. Gonna play some Fallout first. Probaply.... by end of this week or next, lets go all Horde then, right!?!!?

Oh.. and if any of you have Halo 3, lets go double exp now and then.

Ok, mine is Feig, I'll send you an invite. Once Skartasis gets his copy, we'll have an MR party of 4 for horde mode!

Anyone else getting Left 4 Dead besides Walnut and me?

The demo is flat out awesome, and seeing how you can play through the campaign with 3 other people over Live, the more the people that get it, the better.

I'm not actually that much into gaming. Never had the money needed for consoles, and never was that good with computers... so my gaming is therefore limited. Although, Resident Evil 4 is the best game I've ever played. Other good ones are Condemned and Fear.

BTW, do you need a very good computer to run Age Of Mythologies? Gonna buy it soon...

No, you don't need a good computer at all. I finished it without any problems on my 1.7GHz Celeron with 256MB RAM.

The demo for Mirror's Edge is pretty awesome, but I heard the full version is only about 6 hours long, so its probably a rental.

I would say BioShock, Uncharted, and Oblivion are your best choices from that list. Others you might want:

Fallout 3
LittleBigPlanet
Far Cry 2

Plus you got Killzone 2 coming out early next year, and it is looking badass as well.

I have a conundrum:

In the holidays I might be able to work enough to afford a new console. So, xbox 360 or ps3?

I might pick it up, in actual fact I'll go and get the demo now. Co-op stuff is awesome, I'm picking up Call of Duty: World at War tomorrow and that should be great.

I'll let you know what I think of the demo. Is it only single player?

For sheer quality and value for your money II suggest you get the PS3 and here's why.

Packagewise,:
- Known to be way more reliable than the untrust worthy 360 ( failure rates proves that, I'm just too lazy to research the exact data again).
- you get a gaming console capable of playing bluray ( no bluray on 360)
- integrated wi-fi capability for wireless internet ( you have to pay over 100$ more for this feature on a 360).
- Free Internet play for all your multiplayer needs ( you have to pay on 360 for xbox live)
- integrated rechargeable battery in PS3 controllers, you have to pay for batteries or rechargable ones on 360.

Games:
most of the games are the same as on the 260 and if you compare exclusives it's all pretty much even IMO. So it all comes down to preference. No real advantages for either console IMO.

I really don't want to get into this, but I just can't help myself. Personally I don't think any of the above mentioned reasons really matter, except the failure-rate. I don't see myself ever getting a bluray because DVDs will always be good enough. The rechargable battery for the 360 controller is worth paying for, because the controller is so fucking good, seriously, I think it's the best gamepad ever made. Having to pay for XBL is something that has been talked to death, you get what you pay for basically, a shitty, lifeless PS network or a guaranteed good time on XBL.

The thing that makes me prefer my 360 over my PS3 though, is the general design, and simplicity of the user-interface and all the little things that make it so much fun to use. Stuff like being able to talk to your friends over microphone while playing, or blasting music or whatever, and everything is so simple, there's no unnecessary bullshit.

Also, the popularity of games like Halo and GoW have made so many people buy the 360 that there are crazy amounts of people on XBL. I mean, whenever you see someone playing a console on film or TV, it's always an Xbox.

PSN hasn't been out for as long as Xbox live, but it's far from being lifeless and shitty. I've been playing games like NHL 08- 09, Call of Duty 4, Resistance 2 online without any problems whatsoever. As for usability , the PS3 is as easy to use as the 360, it also plays music, allows you to speak to friends while playing and it even has an internet browser (which the 360 doesn't have).

The points mentioned above may not be important to you but they are to many people out there. Especially for the blu ray and wireless features. if want one of theses features they come for a bargain price in the PS3 package. If you opt for the 360 and want the wireless you'll pay a hefty price just for that capability.

It all boils down to ones priority's and wants. I find the PS3 to be the more complete system for my needs on the market right now.
