I lived on metal for about three years, but now nothing makes me want to headbang or sing or care. I think I just listened to so much music that I got sick of it. I only get much from the occasional listen to classical or something lately. Metal is now my background noise, like having a TV muted in an empty room.

I guess it depends on my specific mood. I tend to listen to metal more when I'm in an good or energetic mood, and I tend to listen to it less when I'm in a more depressed or laid-back mood.

Totally. Metal and Punk Rock is the core of my daily routine. But on the same note, I can purposely alter my mood by playing something else. If I'm in the car, on my way to work, its The Misfits, to get my blood flowing. AFTER work, usually on the way to the bar, Seasons in the Abyss is the perfect transition from tense atmosphere to laid-back scene. I don't know what I'd do without aggressive music \m/
