I was going to put him in there to, but the NHL website only has the top 30 players for each category, and he didn't crack any of the lists I looked at. But he is a Sutter, so he will be good.

The Kings with a big win against the Hawks today. Closing in on a playoff spot now :dio:

Now they just keep it up for a mere 60 more games

Next up: Leafs!

Here's another smiley:

Lastly,

I hope you guys win. We beat Philly on saturday, so we reached our quota for this month.

Last season at the trade deadline there was a trade between the Leafs and Flyers. It would of been Kaberle for Carter and 1st. Seeinng how Carter has played so far this season (second in the league in goals) this trade would of been awesome for the Leafs. I hate No Trade Clause bullshit. Just imagine what we could of got for Sundin last season. More than what Atlanta got for Hossa.

I feel for you man. Rob Blake had one too and stopped a deal centered around Blake for Nabokov a couple of years ago. Oh what could have been...

Thankfully, Burke never gives out no-trade clauses unless its under extreme circumstances (i.e. Giguere and health issues with his son).

Yeah I remember that, and now you lost Blake for nothing. Same as us with Sundin, he will sign somewhere later this month and it wont be the Leafs. And we will have lost him for nothing. But I do have a soft spot for Mats, he is the all time goals and points leader for the Maple Leafs after all...

And what a win last night against the Kings. Toskala is turning it on, 3 games in a row he gets the first star. Would of had the shutout if it wasn't for that early breakaway. And what about that penalty kill late in the 2nd? I love Matt Stajan, he leads the team in points right now (21 points in 23 games) and he also scored the Leafs first goal of the game. It's nice to see a Leafs draft pick doing good for once. And still wearing a Leafs jersey.

Brad Boyes...Roberto Luongo...Kyle Wellwood...

Yes sir. Burkie may be a bit overrated, but he is the right man for the job. I think this team will look much different after the trade deadline this season...

Yeah, that was a very good penalty kill. The Kings are in a huge power play slump right now, not moving well at all, but I've got to give credit to the PK of Toronto, it was very good. Toskala too ;)

Special teams decided that game for sure, Kings had the opportunity to take a two goal lead on that 4 on 3 but failed to do so while the Leafs took advantage of their opportunities.

Very disappointing loss though, I thought the Kings controlled the game pretty well and had the most scoring opportunities. They are struggling to put the puck in the net and Kopitar barely looks like half the player he was last season which is a little concerning.

Oh well, young teams are likely to have some consistency issues. We can't really lose at this point, wins are great and losses (draft position) are great too.

It'll be interesting to see what Brian Burke does to the Leafs, I definitely think he's gonna get them back on track if ownership is on board with a full rebuild and not the Tampa Bay kind of rebuild.

I was scared in the game with you guys winning 1-0 that the Kings young talent (Kopitar, Brown, Doughty...) would start to take the game over, but we had that big penalty kill and I can't say enough for Toskala. Dominic Moore also played very well last night being the forward on the 4 on 3 penalty. He deserved the second star. Good for Jeff Finger to, to get that empty netter. He had that breakaway right after he got out of the box where he beat Labarbera but couldn't make that one last move to put the puck in the net.

Ha Finger was in the box. Ha

Next up is the Sharks tonight. Ron Wilsons first game against his former team. I don't think we will win this game because San Jose is playing so good, too good for us Leafers. But you never know, Toskala may have another big game in him to take on his former team. And you know Wilson will be pulling all the stops to get a win.

San Jose is just crazy good... during the regular season :P

Interesting news, atleast for our Norwegian friend. Carolina gets rid of their coach and replaces him with ex-Toronto head coach Paul Maurice. Not sure if it's a good move or not, I guess you might have a better input on how good Maurice is, Walnut.

Is it bad that I wish they would have let Sean Avery play so I could've seen Phaneuf tear him to fucking pieces? :)

He coached for Carolina before Toronto. :P

Maurice is good with the kids, but bad with them at the same time. Also he was under a lot of pressure here in Toronto to win now. In Carolina it's not so crazy, so he should be alright. He's only signed on until the end of the season.

So the Maple Leafs are showing their true colours now. At the beginning of the season everyone was predicting the Leafs to be bottom feeders, and we should be if it wasn't for the half decent start to the season. Right now we are riding a 3 game losing streak, 5-2 loss to the Sharks. 6-3 loss to the Coyotes and 2-1 loss to the Capitals. Ron Wilson is also getting a lot of heat here because of the way he is treating the team. People are saying that Leafs should be losing 3 in a row on a regular basis, due to the rebuild that is happening. And yet Wilson makes the team get up at 6:45 am to have practice at 8 am before cathing the 10 am flight back to Toronto. Then another practice after returning to Toronto, and a morning skate today and the game tonight. He is also taking a lot of heat about the comment he made about Colaicovo a few weeks back saying how he was out of shape. Honestly I am happy with Ron and what he does/has done, he is making the team play pissed off and making them accountable for their mistakes/actions. IE - Kaberle not playing a single shift against Phoneix in the first period.

Anyway, rant over. I hope the Leafs can turn this 3 game losing streak into a 10 game losing streak. Then the exodus can begin. Goodbye Kaberle, Kubina, Antropov, Ponikarovsky, etc...We need a good draft pick, or 3..

I think that's probably a good thing. Players shouldn't feel comfortable losing and a loss should never be acceptable to a team, rebuild or not. It's an important thing to teach to especially young players, to make them compete every game. I think this will make Toronto better in the long run for sure.

Looking forward to see Toronto make some moves at the trade deadline. They certainly have some quality assets that should warrant a pair of 1st round picks and prospects if buyers can be found. Easier said than done though, the salary cap can make things a bit difficult at times.

Just think to last season when we could of got Jeff Carter and a 1st round pick for last years draft(Lucas Sbisa) for Tomas Kaberle. The Leafs would look like geniuses right now because Carter is tearing it up and Sbisa is playing really well for the Flyers. Where Kaberle's play has been marginal at best. Not to mention the trade to San Jose for Stever Bernier and a 1st for Pavel Kubina...stupid no trade clause. I hope Burke can work around these and get these guys out of town. Even though Kaberle is easily our best draft pick (that we have kept) we have had in 20 years.

All I hope for now is more Leafs losses and for teams like Thrashers, Islanders, Panthers, Lightning, Kings, Blues, Coyotes, Senators, and Blue Jackets to win. We need John Tavares.
