The Black Dahlia - Simply one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The story is horrible and there is way too many things going on. And every thing seems just pointless. I think Brian De Palm really sucks on this one ("Scarface" was decent). He tries to make every story in the film to sort of fit each other, but it all boils down to a mess.

Haven't watched more than ten minutes of it but that was my first thought.

Bought Taxi Driver and Apocalypse Now today.

Sir, I am unaware of any such activity or operation - nor would I be disposed to discuss such an operation if it did in fact exist, sir.

It's based on a true story.

Forgot to mention that I watched that too. Really good, especially for an animated movie

American Pie: Great, best of the series, now they've become just pointless sex comedies.

Ransom: Also great.

i thought 2 and 3 were also quite funny. the only other one i saw was "band camp" and that i have to agree was crap.

I also really liked number 2, but yeah, it was after that for me that they just became pointless and uninteresting.

I thought Band Camp was the only good one after the original three. The guy playing Stifflers cousin or whatever was great.

I really like that movie. Gibson and Russo are great together.

Watched a buncha fillerms over the weekend.

Iron Man - Not bad, not amazing. RDJ was good, and The Dude was awesome, as usual.

Speed Racer - Meh. Too many pretty lights and not enough Christina Ricci *makes Hannibal Lecter slurping sound*

The Dark Knight - 4/5. Bale was wooden, Caine was underused, the plot was needlessly complex, the phone sonar was stupid and the fight with TEH BATMAN and Joker felt too similar to the original one. Still, Ledger was awesome (RIP you big druggie) Eckhart was pretty good (underused, still) and Maggie Gyllenhaal > Katie Holmes. GARY OLDMAN! Wanted to see it again as soon as it was over, so I guess that's a good sign.

the phone sonar was the only thing that bugged me about The Dark Knight (other than 2-3 cheesy lines). it wasn't even necessary for anything other than giving Batman a cool gadget. such an awful idea. i thought all the actors did a good job although none of them were spectacular. they all filled the roles they were given flawlessly, but none of them really jumped out because they weren't given the opportunity (except maybe Heath Ledger, although i think all he really did was a good job of playing an extremely badass villain). the movie's main strength was the Nolan's writing; i didn't think the plot was convoluted or hard to follow.

SPOILAZ

The Hong Kong bit was a bit OTT, I thought. Problems: the Joker's henchmen: why not shoot him and take the money instead of watching it being burnt? How did Batman know there'd be a fingerprint on the bullet? Why didn't he wear disguise when he went to the apartment? Why didn't the boats blow up? Why didn't Batman just blame the Joker for Dent's death and the deaths he caused? Still, trying to pick holes in what is essentially a dumb summer action film is just as daft.

For me the movie was worthwhile the second I saw the Joker wearing a female nurses outfit

Anyway, that summer action film is probably gonna win oscars.... a compliment to the film or a criticism of Hollywood?

-because Joker is only guy who can stand up to Batman, which is why they're giving him money in the first place
-dunno, cause he had to put it in the gun?
-not sure which part you're talking about
-because neither boat wanted to blow the other one up, and Joker hadn't pressed the detonator yet because he was busy with Batmang
-Dent didn't die, he just got his face burned off. Batman was seen as to blame for the Joker's killing because he wouldn't do what the Joker wanted (reveal his identity), and he took the blame for the people Dent killed because he doesn't want Dent to be disgraced
