So uh... it goes a little something like this:

You begin the mission, mortars strike, the captain asks a bloke to go check a house across the street, the bloke gets shot down, then you shoot some Germans down the street, a tank appears, you go to the church to get a panzerfaust, you blow up the tank, then you go to the church to man the MG, then you go into an adjacent area, shoot more Germans, head back taking out another tank on the way, a third tank appears at the area where you started the level, then mortars strike again while you make your way to the position, a large field with a couple of structures and some MGs. Where are you?

Bloke gets shot, I run through and positively waste every mother (no tanks) then nothing happens. I'll give it another try tonight and see what happens.

Umm... You run through the door where the bloke was shot? You're not supposed to go that way yet. You'll encounter lots of jerries climbing over the wall next to the church, kill them, then someone will tell you there's a tank at the end of the town where you started the mission.

I think it's triggered so that you have to stay in or close to the house you're taking cover in from the mortars, waste the jerries, then the tank appears, run past the jerries to the church, pick up a panzerfaust, head back and take out the tank.

Oh and, a final tip for that level: make sure you're carrying an smg when you get in the car at the end of the level. And don't worry, that's not a spoiler.

Ah, that must be it then. Annoying. Will have another attempt, as mentioned.

Very strange. Started CoD up, all my save games were gone. Sighed, swore, then started playing again, went to save game and they were all back again.

So played that problem level, and all was fine, tank appeared, etc, now several levels ahead rescuing some of the most stereotypical British officers I've ever come across. Great game, loved the car level. Cheers for help.

Oh, just wait till you get to the British levels. They ramp the action up quite a bit.

And wait till you get to the expansion pack. If you loved the car level, you'll love the (spoiler incoming) bomber mission.

has any of you ever bought a game from play.com? they're listing Civ IV for £10 with free delivery, do you think it's all a big sham?

Sacred 2 - addictive as the first but really buggy. I advise anyone who play it to install all the patches released so far.

I'm switching between two characters right now - lvl. 25 temple guardian in bronze, which was my first character but I messed his build so I started with a seraphim in silver currently at lvl. 18. Great game, I hope it's fixed soon.

Brilliant site, I regularly order DVD's from that site. Within a week, your shipment will arrive, unless it's something that was out of stock.

Bought Tomb Raider Legend because it was cheap and I liked the first three games back in the day.

Legend was my favorite since TR II. Can't wait to play Underworld.

Not bad so far, I must say, although they have messed with the controls a bit... and it has more of a console-feel than before. The mouse shooting thing feels like it was just added in to keep PC fans happy.

is it true that Civ 4 won't work on Vista?

If you can get Bioshock for a discount, get it. I saw it for 20 or 30€ euros a couple of months ago.

CoD4 is by far the better game, though.

I played it on my PS2 back when it came out so I have no idea how PC controls might be or if they changed anything.

Yep. In fact I've heard most people say that CoD4 is better than WaW in terms of multiplayer balance. I'm still playing it almost daily after a year, in any case.

I'm getting Icewind Dale: The Ultimate Collection for Christmas (it includes both Icewind Dales I and II along with the Icewind Dale I: Heart Of Winter Expansion). I'm not even a D&D player and I love Black Isle's RPG's.
