Burn After Reading - better than the first time, but it's still crippled by none of the characters being at all likable.

Shut the hell up. Every character is "likable" in their own way. Are you kidding? Fucking awesome movie that was.

'not at all likable' was a little strong, but i didn't feel bad when bad things happened to them. except maybe the gym manager, because he was like a pathetic little puppy. i guess that's pretty typical of Coen brothers movies though. so yeah, i'll shut up

I can agree to some extent. The character Brad Pitt played was a bit fun and all but in the end I could not care less one way or the other. I appreciate what they were trying to do with the movie and the story, but it did not move me in any way and I only found it somewhat enjoying in the end.

Milk--very very good

Seven Pounds--good. A lot of critics are like "boo-hoo" but this movie is great at what it does.

The Happening - Oh my fucking god worst film ever. The acting was dreadful, the story was laughable... someone kill M Night Shmalalalalawotsit before he makes yet another pile of shit.

it will be interesting to see what happens if he continues his trend of getting worse and worse with each movie, though.

Mister Foe - i liked this movie. the main character was a maybe a little too creepy/nuts, but otherwise it was a good indie movie with truly flawed characters getting through stuff.

Maybe. Don't see how it can get much worse, really... it was pretty bad with the water-sensitive aliens in Signs, which was a great film up-until-then.

And do you mean Hallam Foe there (Jamie Bell watching Sophia Myles through a skylight)? Not bad at all, interesting how he's picking some very odd roles, thought he'd be much more mainstream.

Watched Kung-Fu Panda with my sister. For a new animated movie it wasn't half bad.

i'm just bored at work and i was looking at the cover of Burn After Reading and thought it was ironic that they photoshopped Frances McDormand's wrinkles on the cover

....carry on...

Agree on the Signs and The Happening comment but thought Lady In The Water" was a good movie. Thoughtful and different, yet good.

Um, no. A ridiculous child's story turned into an even more ridiculous film, full of stereotypes, crap acting, and rubbish dialogue. What was so thoughtful? That we all have to believe in fairytales to make the world a better place? Please.

The end crap where they talked through the pipe thing made me lol. As did Wahlberg's constant comments of "Ok, you're a science teacher dammit, use your science teacher skills to solve this crisis!"

Also the people walking backwards looked really stupid... but kind of scary too.

The Strangers - starts off well, but gets a bit silly, I thought. SPOILER Threatened horror > actual horror (ie, creepy person with mask on in distance > masked person stabbin')

I thought The Happening was funny. Terrible but funny.
What I liked the most was just at the end.
*spoiler*
They barely even touched each other during the film and all of a sudden there's a baby on the way. Might have something to do with the flowers, I don't know but the look on Mark Walberg's face when he realizes that she is pregnant is priceless. It's like this "You're pregnant? With who? I'll get that mother... oh, it's mine. Oh joy."
He seems more bothered than glad really.

I definetey think that both The Happening and The Village were crap. But Lady In The Water, Signs & The Sixth Sense...
