Old DeNiro is just about > old Pacino. But recently, Pacino >>> all the way. Not seen their new ones, though, so that might change.

The Visitor - i liked the first half about music and happyness more than the second half about immigration and sadness. really good acting by the main four people though. 9/11

Wall-E - 2nd time watching it. it's cool the little stuff going on in the movie, like the cleaning robot learning he doesn't have to follow the lines, then learning he doesn't need to follow his directives. also a few parts of the soundtrack get me really choked up 11/11

88 Minutes? Two for the Money? The Recruit? The Devil's Advocate?

Edit: That should probably be directed at Zad but c'mon anyone who chooses the Godfather over Goodfellas or Taxi Driver is ridiculous.

Meet the Parents/Fockers were surprisingly entertaining. i agree that Pacino and Deniro have done a lot of meh movies though.

But what has Pacino done that is better than Meet the Parents in the last ten years? I wasn't saying that de Niro hasn't done any shitty movies though.

Yup. He was great in The Merchant Of Venice, The Insider... shit, when was Donnie Brasco out? Meanwhile, the best thing DeNiro's done since Ronin has been Stardust, no?

Never seen it but I'm sure it'd be hard for Nolan to make a shitty movie with Robin Williams, Hillary Swank and Pacino.

I haven't seen enough Pacino to really maintain this argument.

Edit: Just saw the trailer for Friday the 13th directed by Micheal Bay. Bay makes me want to vomit but there were some cool looking death scenes (ie: retro lawnmowers, boats hitting people, axes being thrown, axes cleaving into the back of a skull, Jason charging with a machete at some chick) so it may have potential.

Juno - boring, predictable. Michael Cera plays the same character in everything. Unlike some people that it's ok, it just gets old with him.

I think he's literally done three movies. Cut him some slack...but yeah Juno isn't for everybody. I liked it a lot...

And also Meet the Parents is really funny. Can't see anybody having a problem with it...haven't seen Meet the Fockers in a while but I recall that not being as funny.

Ok so only 3 movies, but also 3 seasons of Arrested Development. All as the exact same character.

And I don't know how anybody could like Juno. Be entertained maybe, but like it? Come on.

True about Arrested Development. I dunno, I still like him. I haven't seen the Inifinite Playlist one or whatever so maybe it rubs less against me.

And about Juno, it was nominated for Best Picture and has a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I've gotten the impression most people liked it...

People like it because it makes them feel as if they are underground and trendy. Or they just have really bad senses of humor and like stuff like Juno or Step Brothers.

I actually like Cera in Arrested Development but his act doesn't translate well outside of it.

Who cares about awards these days? Juno was dreadful, trying to get by on unsnappy dialogue and hamburger phones. And the godawful shite music...!

Anyone posting on this board is clearly underground already.

Juno was a very warm and sweet movie. I really liked it, especially the music. It made me feel good.
Take of them headphones and lay of the black metal for a while guys. See the light!

EDIT: I saw one "just-because-she-is-cute-and-I'm-too-tired-to-turn-of-the-telly-movie" and one "is-it-4-in-the-morning-already-flick" yesterday.
The first one is called This Time Around, starring Carly Pope. She has the biggest smile ever. Like she is about to devour someone each time something is funny. In a cute way. Can't remember much of the story though, something about her being bullied in school by a guy and then getting back at him but ending up falling for him. With a happy ending. Yeah, pretty much sums it up.

Second one is called Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. I won't go into further details.

Oh yeah, recently watched some episodes of Rome. This year I promise myself I'll watch it through.
