I actually played you once in Starcraft, and I would've gotten owned if it weren't for my hotkeys. Hah.

What level do you guys normally play on? Take MGS for an example, back in the day I played on normal and the hard mode (with the radar off). I try and go for 'Hard' or whatever the equivalent in games, that sense of struggle is awesome.

I'm playing MGS2 on "Normal" right now (with the radar turned ON, mind you). After finishing it, I may one day decide to replay it on "Hard."

One of my favorite parts of MGS2 is how, when you play as Snake and try to save your game, Otacon tries (and fails hilariously) to give you the same pearls of wisdom Mei Lang would give in the original.

MGS2 is a classic, unlike MGS3 which I found really annoying because of all the camouflage changing and lack of radar. I tried playing MGS1 after MGS2, but I stopped playing after a little while. Not because of the graphics but it seemed broken to me without 1st person aiming.

On another note, I should be getting Star Wars: TFU today.

Uh, really? Don't remember at all... Been a long time since I played it.

Finished Crysis and Far Cry 2.
I'd give a 7.5 to Crysis and a 7 to FC2.

Oh man, I love Crysis. I did not expect much. From the demo it felt like any regular shooter but playing the whole game on a hefty rig all the way through was a very satisfying experience. It Wowed me many times and the gameplay is incredibly smooth.
Yet to play Far Cry 2 though.

I've been playing a lot of competitive Resistance 2 lately... if anyone here has a PS3 and Resistance 2, I'd love to play some time. We could even do some co-op. My PSN ID is TimmyTukey (don't ask... and notice the absence of the letter "r" from my name).

Got Force Unleashed last Tuesday. Awesome game, but I beat it in around 5 hours. At least there's a lot of hidden content to collect, and it allows new game plus.

It is?

I think it's one of the best hockey games ever. There are some flaws, but filled to the teeth?

It is?

I think it's one of the best hockey games ever. There are some flaws, but filled to the teeth?

I can only speak of the PC-version and to name a few there are:

- Terrible graphics. Looks like a PS2 game. Plus, there are NO Widescreen resolutions.

- I have an official Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller with cord plugged in on a Vista system. NHL09 have no special layouts for this what so ever. In the controller setup there's a default controller scheme which I have to modify to get anything decent out of. The game should recognize the controller and use the proper settings.

- The commentators always say the same thing and what they say usually never reflects what actually happened.

- The tackles seem anti-productive. There have been numerous times when I've slamed the puck carrier to the ground only where he would instantly get on his feet and steal the puck back before I could snatch it.

- The replays. THE F*cking replays! 90% of the time they show the wrong thing. If there's been a great chance on goal, a terrific save or something of the like they show a replay of a tackle somewhere else. And vice versa. And when they finally show a great shot it's cut so fast that any rebound chance afterwards is left out.
That's not even the best part. Sometimes a bug occurs and all the goal replays get's skipped entirely. The game jumps from goal celebration to face off immediately.

- The AI. The defence is a laugh and way to passive. No AI character seems to bother about pucks along the boards too much and they usually just let them pass by unnoticed. The AI never ever learns of it's mistakes and always use the same patterns and strategies.
Oh, and try this one: Get yourself in a 4 vs 5 or even 3 vs 5 situation. Grab the puck in your own zone and just skate around with it round the bin. They AI seem to have a hard time even trying to get the puck back and killing of penalties is a child's play this way.

- Sometimes when I press the pass button to change guy it changes to the goalie without warning which have caused me to skate away with him and leave the goal wide open.

- The create a pro mode is too shallow and the options few.

- I see little point in the score of teams since they are usually very similar, ranging from 78 to 81 with no apparent difference.

I could go on but the main problem I have is that it just feels so damn lazy. There have been MANY NHL games over the years but nothing has really happened since 2000.
And what I sucker I am for still playing them

I've played NHL 09 on PC and then on my friend's X Box and there is a world of difference between the two. X Box 360 version is the best hockey game ever; PC version is good, but has a lot of flaws, like you say.

I reckon the graphics are better on the Xbox but are there really any major differences besides that? The core game is still the same right?

Depends. As far as I'm aware, if it started out as a console game and was then ported, then there'll be little changes, but if it's more of a franchise like NHL more likely to be developed alongside each other, so there shouldn't be major changes. Still, I haven't played either version of this game, so have no idea! :D I must say that if you have a decent PC the graphics are generally better than on Xboxes.

I'm looking at videos of the 360 version right now and it looks like a completely different game. It seems like a whole other engine.
It's usually true that games can look better on a PC but it's not the case this time around.
Looking forward to play Mirror's Edge on the PC though, it will surely look sweet.

It's coming out on the PC?! Well now. Have you played it? I've been hoping they'd do a PC version, but it's definately either going to be brilliant or awful...
