It's coming out on the PC?! Well now. Have you played it? I've been hoping they'd do a PC version, but it's definately either going to be brilliant or awful...

It's "out" already
I've played the demo on the Xbox 360, and with a controller on the PC I'm guessing it will be about the same. Perhaps even prettier.

I reckon the graphics are better on the Xbox but are there really any major differences besides that? The core game is still the same right?

Depends. As far as I'm aware, if it started out as a console game and was then ported, then there'll be little changes, but if it's more of a franchise like NHL more likely to be developed alongside each other, so there shouldn't be major changes. Still, I haven't played either version of this game, so have no idea! :D I must say that if you have a decent PC the graphics are generally better than on Xboxes.

I'm looking at videos of the 360 version right now and it looks like a completely different game. It seems like a whole other engine.
It's usually true that games can look better on a PC but it's not the case this time around.
Looking forward to play Mirror's Edge on the PC though, it will surely look sweet.

I was going to say, wow.

All your complaints I have barely noticed any of them while playing on my 360. The only one that I notice a lot is the replay one. That is just stupid.

There are a lot more differences, actually. A lot of game modes were removed for the PC version, I think the PC one has a worse frame rate, and it's all around less customizable. Big difference between the two.

It's a great-looking game, and it's really fun to try. I don't think it's worth buying though, because it gets old VERY fast. Next to Bioshock it's one of the most overrated games of this decade.

Assasins creed is great fun, for a while. The game feels like it was made for the sequel. Still, everyone should play it.

Well, I'm convinced. Gotta try out the 360 version then.

Agreed. It's excellent for the first 5-10 hours. And the story is quite good if you manage to get through the game.

The first 360 game I recall that's overrated is in my mind Call of Duty 4. The singleplayer campaign was good except for the endless waves of respawning enemies. It completely took the edge of things and made every firefight seem useless as you could just as easily rush by all the guys to the next checkpoint.
I completed several whole levels like this, and that's not a good sign for a First Person SHOOTER.

It's a damn awesome game which sometimes may become slightly repetitive, but it's barely a problem. The story is fucking great too.

Not at all. More like a Max Payne set in medieval times, but you go around different places and you get enough freedom to wander around where you want.

NHL 09 was on a sale for the 360 so I grabbed it and have been playing all day long. Completely different game than the PC version. Glad you guys pointed this out :D

I just started the playoffs last night in my dynasty for NHL 09.

I met up with the Islanders in the first round. 2 games in and I have a 2-0 series lead. I won game 1 in a tight defensive game that went to OT, final score 2-1. Game 2 was a little different, DiPietro was shakey and I scored 3 on him in the first. In the second I netter a beautfiul goal where DP thought I was going to pass so he pushed over to make the save on the 1-timer, as his legs opened up I just snuck it through the five-hole, thus getting DP the boot. Final score 6-0.

Go Me Go!

I really like the Be a Pro mode. Seeing myself climb towards NHL and all :) But I would very much like to coach the team as well. The team I'm with now have some questionable defence which I think I could work on, but it's not possible in this mode.

Yeah that is my only fault with Be-A-Pro. Vesa Toskala in the minors in favour of Cujo and Pogge? Please. I wish I could just modify the lines a little, but then I guess that takes the fun out of it.

I have 2 different Be-A-Pro players, a defence man and a forward.

The d-man is all defensive and doesn't score, even though they want 5 to 10 goals out of me. I made it to the first line NHL with my d-man.

The forward I am only on second like minors. I just can't seem to score. I chose to be a power forward, like myself when I play hockey. When I play online I go right to the net to deflect shots or screen the goalie and pick up rebounds. But offline it just doesn't work that way...

Some upcoming games in 2009 I want/cant wait for:

Timesplitters 4 - it may not be dead yet!

Star Wars Battlefront 3 - screen shots look awesome, too bad Lord of the Rings: Conquest was a bit of a bust...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - oh my god...my favourite game of 2007 has a sequel. I need to beat World at War soon, if I wait I will never beat it. Fall 2009 :dio:

Resident Evil 5 - my first ever time buying an RE game? I think so.

Assassins Creed 2 - just dont be as repeptitive as the first, and you have a winner.

Ghostbusters - original cast, fun gameplay, and that theme song? Oh my.

Prototype - free-roam destroying goodness with an interesting story, im in.

Halo ODST - stealth Halo? sure.

Something good for the Wii - I can hope cant I?

Yeah same thing for my center. Rush up to the net, look mean, and flick the stick around like crazy. Although I've spent most points on his skating and wristshots, the only ways he has scored so far is by slapshots or steering the puck into the goal by his ass. I saved a video of it :)

The two games I'm most looking forward to are Portal 2 and HL2: Episode 3. And of course Black Mesa Source. Half-Life 2 came out 5 years ago and still going strong :dio:
Oh, and Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 obviously. And Mass Effect 2. And a whole bunch of other games I've forgot.

It has DRM, no? Three installs and that's it, or something.
