Meh. The twisty twist could have been figured out by a twelve year old before the movie even started. From start to finish it was a so-so movie but with such an anticlimax ending I can't help but to feel disappointed. You can't put so much emphasis on the twist and not make it spectacular.

Really? It's much more spectacular than, say, The Sixth Sense's, which is a real bore. They do try and hammer how ASTONISHING the twist is, though - dropped coffee cup! smash! epic music! run FAILingly to the door looking! I suppose it's better than average, although not as good as people make it out to be, although I must admit that I never saw it coming. Did watch it friggin' years ago for the first time, admittedly.

Now, Se7en had a kickass twist. From the whole 'here I am lol' part onwards, it just becomes a rollercoaster of awesome.

Well, I was a lot younger when I saw the Sixth Sense and back then it was quite impressive. Being dead is a lot more drastic than being the mastermind though.
Yeah all those things to try and convince the viewer of how fantastic the twist was. Speaking of the devil, flashbacks, big woop.

All hail Se7en, kickass no doubt. I gotta rewatch Fight Club soon too.

I saw Saw 1 and 2 this week as well and their endings are a lot better. The in-your-face flashbacks work really well there. The first movie felt so fresh and clever and the second one had a fun twist as well.

Blazing Saddles - man oh man, a movie like this could never come out nowadays.

"How do you do ma'am? And boy isn't it a nice day today?"

"Up yours nigger."

oh my...

if you have not seen this movie, do yourself a favour and watch it.

"Somebodies gotta go back and get a shit load a dimes!"

"What are your qualifications?" "Rape, murder, arson, and rape." "You said rape twice." "I like rapin"

Plus the german chick, cant remember her name, is so hot. Lilly Von Stupp.

"I told you to wash your hands after our monthly cross burning, there it's coming off"

X-Files: I Want to Believe. It felt very un-Xfily. It was not very interesting, unrealistic, dramatic or fun at all.

Brothers Grimm. Was only good because of the Gilliam influence.

The Alibi - mildly amusing twisty drama thing with Steve Coogan.

I saw this one with the intention of seeing a whole other film, but was pleasantly surprised. It's rather nifty.

The Truman Show - adorable cheese. i liked it but it did feel a little like they had to stretch out him figuring out that it's a television show so that they'd have something long enough for a movie.

Appaloosa - i really liked this western. the writing, Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen, the characters, the soundtrack, and the visuals were all a joy to watch in a simple but unique way. classy stuff that i'll definitely be watching again.

Sixty Six - Liked it a lot. For fans of Billy Elliot, watch this one.

Eh, it was alright, but didn't really know if it was a comedy or drama, and the ending was mawkish as hell. I do like Eddie Marsan though, watch Happy Go Lucky.

Somers Town - rather nice low-budget Brit indie about a runaway and his Polish friend. B&W.

Defiance

Pretty good. Overly sentimental/cheesy at times but overall pretty solid.

Bloody awesome. It was cool and exciting but in a very subtle manner, though partly explosive as well. Excellent, interesting characters, great story and unexpected. Epic sex scene as well.

Last movie I watched...The Wrestler. I believe Mickey Rourke deserved his Golden Globe although the movie was very depressing in that Aranofsky sort of fashion.
