Jesus, that's a hot chick. She's hotter than Lace from the original (the second Lace).

UFC is good sometimes but when you get a wrestler you may aswell change channel before the fight even starts. Even the fans hate it when its just on the ground, you can hear them all booing.

I hate a lay and pray fighter as much as the next but I do respect the ground game entirely. My brother took BJJ for a year and says the ground is extremely difficult, especially on your back. There are fighters who are good on the ground and make good use out of ground and pound ... Good examples would be Randy Couture, GSP, and of course the master himself Fedor Emelianenko.

Unfortunately a lot of wrestlers do tend to lay and pray and not try to pass guard or make anything of their dominate position and are content to attempt to do damage from in the guard of their opponent which usually doesn't happen.

But I do love a good ground fight provided both fighters are well versed and aggressive... As I said Huerta vs Guida is an excellent example of good MMA all around, especially GnP by Guida.

So...?

Any fans still kickin'?

UFC 93 was last night, anybody watch?

Rich Franklin is one of those guys you just hate to see lose. It's not that I don't like Dan Henderson, but I like Franklin more.

Also it was cool to see Mark Coleman back in the UFC. Even though he is 44 years old and was completely fatigued about 3 minutes into the fight. Shogun didn't look too good last night though. Coleman hasn't fought in 2 years is 17 years older, yet Shogun was just as fatigued as Mark was. Pretty sad if you ask me.

I also bought UFC 1-4 boxset. Man is old UFC brutal. Later this week I am going to order UFC 5-8 boxset and UFC 9 and 10 seperatley. Dan Severn is really a beast. Too bad he lost to Royce "Do the samething each fight" Gracie at UFC 4.

What got old? The PPV? I enjoyed it.

And it doesn't matter where Rich Franklin is from, I still like him.

Next up is the first super fight of the year, Georges "Rush" St. Pierre vs. BJ "The Prodigy" Penn 2. Should be awesome.

My dad loves it, but I can't help but think how homoerotic it all is, watching two men grapple each other in compromising positions. I just can't take it seriously.

Not comfortable with your sexuality are we?

Yeah it gets a little weird watching two 200 lbs men fight and grapple each other. But it is way more exciting than boxing.

What got old?
The entire sport. For every awesome kick to the jaw there is three minutes of dull grappling on the ground. I used to be able to tolerate it but not lately.

That's why losing Pride hurt the sport so much. In Pride the fighters could only hug each other on the mat tenderly for so long until the ref made them get up and reset themselves. If they didn't they got penalized for it. UFC rule system basically encourages steamy man on man action, and that makes for boring ass fights. Playing up the personalities of the fighters much like Pride did wouldn't hurt eithier. Just make it a legit form of Pro Wrestling in terms of production values and such.

Haha. steamy man on man action...

But seriously bring back Pride. And I'm not an expert, but apparently the guys from Pride were much more legit fighters than the UFC guys now.

That's why they have losing records in the UFC?

I don't care what you guys say. Fighting on the ground is hard as hell, and it can be boring but it can be fun to watch if you know what is going on. My main problem with Pride was Mauro Renallo.

St. Pierre vs. Blow Job Penn 2 will be one helluva fight, I don't care what you haters have to say. Plus I am excited to see the return of Stephen Bonnar.

Also some good fights coming up, like:

Rampage vs. Jardine

Silva defending his title

Hughes vs. Serra

Lesnar vs. Mir

Liddell vs. Shogun

If you don't appreciate grappling then you're not an MMA fan. I love grappling just as much as striking. In fact, the fighters that just " stand up and bang " as they put it, generally either suck or forgo any chance to do more damage on the ground or by submission in order to keep the people who are still in the dark about MMA happy. It's bullshit. This sport is called " Mixed Martial Arts " for a reason. Grappling is a part of the sport, and a lot of times can be more exciting than any sort of striking.

If you think it's " homoerotic " then you're a clueless idiot, simple as that. It wouldn't be very homoerotic if some guy has you out cold after sinking in a choke, one that you're completely unable to defend.

There's standups in the UFC, and have been for awhile. Rarely do fights end up going to a standstill on the ground anymore without being stood up after a period of time. Same with clinches.

Anderson Silva has a losing record? Rampage has a loosing record? Nogueira has a losing record? Dan Henderson? Etc.

Fighters such as Wandy may... But keep in mind he's in a hugely deep division, and likely coming off his prime. The Pride HW division was also way more legit than anything the UFC has ever offered.

Anyway... Did anyone watch Fedor destroy Arlovski this past weekend?

I have a buddy that does grappling... He hasn't been doing it for a year even, but got to the semi-finals in the Norwegian Championship.

I let him practice on me once. Not doing that again.

That was a sick knockout, made to look even more brutal since Arlovski was in mid air attempting a flying knee when the punch landed. Fedor looks unstoppable, though I would love to see him in the UFC so he could fight Mir or Lesnar. He would have the edge of course, but both fights would be entertaining.

I didn't catch UFC 93, but I'm glad Henderson won. I like both fighters, but am more interested to see Henderson as a coach on TUF since Rich has already been one before. Plus, a Henderson/Bisping fight has the makings of a classic.

For the losing record thingy, most of them are not where they should be. Rampage wins then loses then wins again. Same with Nogeuira, and Henderson.

Anderson Silva is exempt from what I said.

UFC heavyweight division sucks. I'd love to see Fedor come destroy Brock (baby huey) Lesnar. Since that will probably never happen, I hope Mir beats Lesnar again.

I didn't get to see the fight, but I heard that early on (real early on) Arlovski was controlling the fight. Then Fedor just rocked him. Fight over. Not really worth the 50$ price tag.

I wanted my dream math teacher to win. Rich is one of those guys you just hate to see lose. But having Hendo as the coach will be good, and yeah the Hendo-Bisping fight will be good.

UFC 94 in t minus 15 hours and 27 minutes...

What are your picks?

I want to see BJ win, but I just don't see it happening.

Machida over Silva

Bonnar over whoever he's fighting

Diaz over Guida

I heard the guy Karo Parisyan is fighting is pretty good, so I'm not sure about that fight.

What about you?

It's so tough for me to make my picks. All the fights have certain stipulations that can swing my vote either way.

Blow Job Penn vs. St. Pierre
I want GSP to win. Canadian pride man. But I just don't know who to pick here, Penn is a completely different fighter from the last time they fought. But I will stick with my heart and go with GSP.

Machida vs. Thiago Silva
Both are undefeated, and isn't Silva suppose to be getting a title shot against err ...Silva? But I go with Machida, anybody who beats down Ortiz the way he did gets a plus in my books.

Bonnar vs. Jon Bones Jones
I want Bonnar to win, but he hasn't fought in over a year. Plus Jones is undefeated. Again, I go with my heart and pick The American Psycho Sthephan Bonnar.

Nate Diaz vs. Clay Guida
I've only seen both of these guys fight a handful of times. And I don't personally like either, but I would probably pick Guida over Diaz due to his better record. But after doing a little research, I will be picking Diaz.

Karo Parisyan vs. Dong Hyun Kim
Karo is a good fighter and I have seen him kick ass before, plus I don't know a thing about Dong either than he is undefeated with 10 wins and 1 draw. But I pick The Heat Karo Prisyan.

Jon Fitch vs. Akihiro Gono
Fitch lost his last fight to the best in his weight class (GSP) and he still has one helluva a record (21-3) put that on top of I have never heard of or seen Gono before, I pick Fitch.
