He was the only player in the NHL last night to score all 3 of his goals on 1 goalie.

He being David Booth

Woo, Montreal 3, Dallas 1. Needed that win. We were in 8th place today and now we are in 5th. And with 11 of our final 16 games on home ice I am hopeful we can manage to stay in the top 8. It's pretty bad it's come down to this, we should be up there with Washington and New Jersey.

Wow. I missed the game. I was at the Pub watching rugby... That's pretty cool. I guess if one guy racks up 3 goals then it's best to pull the goalie.

If Montreal was up with the Washingtons and New Jerseys, then who would fall down to the 5th-8th spots? Certainly not Boston, Jersey, Washington or anybody in the top 4. They are all too good to be in the 5th-8th. Montreal deserves to be where they are because of poor play and not enough grit.

Anyway, Leafs vs. Sens in 3 hours. This is like the exact definition of a must lose. We lose, we sit 3 points out of the top 5. We win, then we are 7 points out... 3 is better than 7.

Brayden Schenn please.

I don't disagree, however for the first half of the year I would. They went something like 28-14-6 with 62 points before the All-star break. And since then they have gone like 7-11-1 for 15 points. I don't think Montreal would have been a top 3 seed or anything due to Boston, but I think they would easily be in 4th ahead of philly and close in points to Washington and NJ. My point was basically that they started out great and since the all-star break have just absolutely lost it. As for the 5th-8th spots, if Montreal played the way they did for the first half of the year I think Philly, Florida, penguins, and the rangers would have sat there nicely. Would be great to have another crack at Philly in the playoffs actually.

Well, I'm happy Montreal won, but Carbo's been fired, which I'm not happy about. I thought that the team had started playing much better recently, and it seems like a kneejerk reaction. Hopefully Gainey know what he's doing...

Wow I heard some rumblings about him being fired on the radio. But I didn't really know what was going on. That's crazy. I always thought he was a good coach. This is like what happened in New York. It wasn't the coachs fault, it was the players.

Wow, what an intense game against the Rangers. We won 3-0, and what an achievement for Ward to shut out the team he has been struggling so muych with. I bet all of our players is gonna nurse their bruises now, cause this was damn physical.

I know completely understand all the hate towards that dickhead Avery. What a fucking dirty player, it would be awesome if Gleason got to knock him down after their episode in LA, yet for some reason Avery wasn't on the ice when Gleason was. Ever. It was also nice to see how their coach shone with anger every time Avery took a completely unecsesarry penalty. I wonder how long he'll stay.

Erik Cole is truly the difference maker for us. His work ethic is what we've been missing all season, and I seriously believe we can make the playoffs if we continue playing like we've been for the last couple of games. It's gonna be hard though, but I hope and believe that the guys got what it takes. It's clear that he never wanted to leave Raleigh as he's playing levels above what he did in Edmonton.

As for the Rangers, I really like what I see from Mark Staal. An intelligent D-man whom I would love to see in a Canes-jersey once. Speaking of their defense, they seemed pretty terrified of both Staal and Cole's speed as they tore them up during the last half of the period.

Easily the most esciting game of the year even though we shut them out and won pretty comfortably in the end.

Well we lost to Ottawa tonight, which is never a good fealing. Just like losing to those nasty Habitants.

But now we sit only 3 points out of lottery contention, or in other words. 3 points away from drafting 5th overall and gettin Brayden Schenn.

Having both Schenns would be amazing, Luke Schenn the next Scott Stevens and his younger brother Brayden Schenn the next Doug Gilmour. I like the sounds of that, especially when captian Luke passes the stanley cup to his brother. Who will be wearing the A on his Leafs jersey with pride.

Oh to be a dreamer...

Well the Blackhawks - Hurricanes was exciting as hell.. Ward was fantastic even though we lost on the shoot-outs. Chicago sure got one exciting team up and running, and I'm glad we managed to grab a point after Maurice pulled a Brent Sutter and pulled Cam Ward which made it 6-on-4 the last minute. Great for Ruutu to tie it with 25 seconds left against his former club. It would be great with a 5-game winning streak, I'm happy with that point nonetheless.

Dallas up next, Go Canes Go!!

Martin Brodeur ties Patrick Roy for all time wins at 551. Brodeur will probably break the record on tuesday. He only needs 1 more shut-out to tie Terry Sawchuk for all time shut-outs to... The scary part is he still has several years left in him, so we pad these stats very nicely over the next few seasons.

Also, the Leafs-Flames game was crazy last night. The Leafs took an early 3-0 lead, only to see it disapear come the end of the 1st. At the end of the night the Leafs won 8-6. Olli Jokinen had the hat-trick for Calgary and Mikhail Grabovsky had his first career hat-trick for the Leafs. Oh and the latest Leafs rookie, Phil Oreskovic, is a beast. Standing at 6 foot 5 and over 210 lbs. He is huge.

So like did everybodies love for hockey go away? This is the second best time of the year, all the teams are battling for playoff spots and it's some of the best hockey you will ever see. Yet nobody has anything of interest to share? Strange.

Well I wont let this thread die.

Martin Brodeur earned his 552nd win tonight making him the all time winningest goal tender of all time. The scary part is he still has several years left in him so he can just pad these stats even more. New Jersey Devils to win the East this season, you heard it here first.

The Leafs played the Lightning tonight, the last game of the season between these 2 teams. Tampa has won all 3 meetings of the season between the 2 of them. And they continued with their dominance over the Leafs by taking a 3-0 lead early in the 2nd. But Toronto fought through it and with less than 5 minutes left in the 3rd the Leafs tied the game. Thus forcing OT, and what an exciting OT it was. End to end action, with a lot of 2 on 1's and big time saves from both Cujo and Ramo. No score after 5 minutes of OT, so he head to the shoot-out. The newest Maple Leaf, Jeff Hamilton, scored his first ever NHL shoot-out goal giving the Leafs the lead in the SO. 5 shooters later and it was Vinny Lecavaliers turn, and holy shit what a move. Not even explainable, you just have to see it. Eventually the Leafs would win in the SO in the 6th round by a John Mitchell 5-hole snipe. And the Leafs get another not needed 2 points... But hey at least it was exciting.

Brodeur ties the shutout record at 101 against the Minnesota Wild tonight.

Anyway, One step closer to the playoffs after two impressive wins at home. We swept the Devils away two nights ago, and played one crazy game against the Islanders. After leading 2-0 after the first, we let in four unanswered but came back. LaRose is seriously stepping up his game, and got two goals tonight. Other than that Babchuk has been hot and had two goals against the Devils the other night.

Cole has definitely spawned some energy after his return. We look like an entirely different team now. I don't even want to shut the TV off when we're losing, cause we play great hockey at the moment and seem to catch up with everything.

Next up the Caps!

Go Canes Go!

Not yet. Methinks that the record's at 103.

And the Habs really need to turn some shit around. We have to destroy Toronto tonight.

Oh man, life is good right now. Montreal lose, Panthers lose, Sabres lose, we crush Washington, and more important Brindy battered Ovechkin face-first into the boards. That was epic.

babchuk continues to impress and scores his third in two games, and 8 in his last 16. In fact three d-men scored for us tonight. Babs, Pitkanen and Corvo. Great game.

It's always good to beat the Habs in their own building, especially with all the expectations people had for this year.

Cancuks gaffe in Phoenix
