The need to buy a PS3 grows daily.

Overpriced as fuck, but at least the possibility exists that it would work properly for more than a month, aye?

Seriously, buy yourself a gaming computer. At least when that fails to work it'll be your own fault, not theirs.

I would build a gaming computer, but there are so many good console games that are only on consoles that I couldn't pass up.

Plus I really don't have the money to build a computer, or buy a PS3 for that matter. I was just speaking out of frustration. After the expected price drop, my attitude may change.

And my X-Box Live connection is fine now, except my latest download has been stuck at 88% for 8 hours now...

Oh yes, definitely do so. I've chalked up not hundreds but THOUSANDS of hours on the series. Games like Age of Empires 3 seem ridiculously stale once you're into the series.

Right. Soooooo... I've had some luck with Empire Total War. It runs on my desktop (barely). My laptop is waaaay more powerful, it will run on that fine. However, I've still got the CHDAud.sys error. This is after I've uninstalled the game and Steam and the reinstalled and after installing the latest graphics drivers and then also uninstalling and reinstalling them. I've been trying to find the latest Conexant audio drivers for my laptop. But to no avail, all the versions I seem to find are bloody Vista ones and I'm running XP. God dammit

Just finished Halo 3 the other day... The second is still the best in the seris, as this this was a little to short. Boring in the beginning, yet pretty damn eciting towards the end.

If the demo was any indication of the final game, I really can't understand that review. The demo I played was just atrocious.

He said in the review that if you didn't like the demo that you wouldn't like the game. Because the demo and game are pretty much the exact same. Now for my opinion, I can't stand Resident Evil games. Part 5 has not changed my opinion about that.

For those of you who are wondering, IGN gave it a 9/10

I like the first 3 for PS1, didn't like the direction they went with 4 but it was playable at the time. 5 from what I played was annoyingly unplayable. Everytime you pull your gun out you stop and get raped, you can't walk and have your gun pointed? there were games I remember that had that feature back in the early 2000s. And the controls and sluggish movement have not been fixed from part 4. I could deal with it back when 4 came out, but from what I played 5 is just 4 in a new setting with pretty graphics. Which I guess is fine for some people, seeing as how 4 is praised by many for some unknown reason.

My biggest problem with the entire series is the controls. Just like you said, stopping to shoot is retarded. I can't stand it. I don't know how people are so in love with this game. In the review they said that they are some of the best graphics ever seen so far. Um, no they are not.

I did enjoy RE 1 - 3, they were really good for their time 4 was kinda meh for me, seriously why do people consider it a masterpiece is beyond me and now 5 seems to be more of the same, like you said the controls are fucking horrible you have to stop to shoot, you cant adjust the camera easily while running (press L3 to run? WTF is that?! ) aiming is fucking slow, etc to be fair the demo wasnt horrible, graphics were decent, the action was fast paced, and even with the whole control problems i think its still playable but im about 3 hrs from finishing Fallout 3 and i just bought Uncharted and Kill Zone 2 and by the time i finish those games others much better hopefully will be on the way (God Of War 3, Uncharted 2, Infamous, etc) so i think Re 5 is going to be one of those games that i will have to pass on.

I know you PS3ers have Infamous coming, which looks sweet, but check out Prototype. That game looks just as awesome, if not better. I am definitely getting it when it comes out.

Another game on my radar now is Damnation. It could be good...

Edit - Well looks like no one from here is getting sucked off, someone else helped me :P

Killzone 2,

I've got resident evil 5 on pre-order, so can't wait to play that as well.
I totally loved resident evil 4, so I'm pretty sure I'll like this one.
