yes! and it will be awesome, judging from the cast and director. although it's been delayed a bunch which usually isn't a good sign.

I have to read an essay on High Fidelity in the next few days so I may try to finish the book before then as well.

Slavoj Zizek - Violence. It has finally clicked. I love the damn Slovenian and his Grizzly Adams beard. Witty, funny and intellectual.

In the second chapter, he calls Bill Gates a liberal communist who facilitates poverty through his business practices only to turn some of his earnings back into the country. Forcing those in the third world to be reliant on his company for a job and to praise him when he sends them some food.

We don't mind if you bad taste. You can still be our friend. It's not what you like; it's what you are like.

Poor repressed, oppressed soul.

In addition to the Zizek, I picked up Sandra Bartky's "Femininity and Domination". Hopefully now that finals are over and the new gf is on vacation, I can start reading at breakneck speed again. I also have to start reading some Marx and Foucault in preparation for my independent study. Argh!

i finished Atonement. it was pretty good but kind of predictable and i doubt i'd have gotten through the first part if i wasn't reading it for school.

now reading The Rest is Noise, so far makes me want to listen to Strauss and Mahler

Finished the Satyricon today. Great stuff, don't see why everyone I know seems to hate it.

I didn't like reading it in the original Latin but the story is pretty good. Your Ticket is No Longer Valid is a better story about impotency though.

I think a lot of people don't get that Petronius is voicing a character, and therefore a lot of what he says is supposed to be utterly ridiculous.

It just gets better from here. This one ends really well and the third one is fantastic- one of the best conclusions to a trilogy ever.
