After re-reading that, it seemed a little douche like.

But still, no hopes for you. NEXT!

good game between Canucks and blues tonight. sucks we lost though. they went crazy once they got that first power play and just never let the Canucks do much after that except the one lucky Burrows goal.

Very good night for the Leafs tonight, all the right teams won, or at least got a point.

Atlanta beat the Rangers in a SO 5-4

Tampa got a point losing to the Habs in OT 3-2.

Nashville beat the Sharks 3-2.

St. Louis beat the Nucks, like noodles said, 4-2.

LA beat Dallas in OT 1-0. Huge 3 point game.

Phoenix beat Edmonton 3-2.

other scores, that don't affect the Leafs, on this huge night of games:

Florida beat Philly 4-2.

Columbus shut-out Calgary 5-0.

Overall, 19 points went out tonight to teams that are not named Toronto Maple Leafs, and that makes me happy. If only Tampa would of won their game...

Oh come on, this is such a stupid stereotype, as is the "heartless rats who take cheapshots" stereotype. Yes, players like Saku Koivu, Mats Sundin, Nikolas Lidstrom, and hell, even Alexander Ovechkin (just to name a few most prominent players) clearly have no heart and don't care about their teams at all. I thought we'd all gotten past the stupid European stereotypes when Detroit won last year, but I guess not.

And yes, Cherry continually harping on those gosh darned Europeans and french Canadians is pretty racist, or at the least, xenophobic. And yes, he does attack other players, but in the main, he's willing to excuse non-Europeans and Francophones, which he never does the other way around. Key point: His defence of Jamie McLennan's slash on Franzen, which he tried to fully justify. There's just no reason to care what Cherry thinks- I like my sports commentators to be classy, articulate, passionate and intelligent. Cherry has the passion down, but without the other three, it's impossible to take him seriously.

I never said that I don't like all Europeans. Obvisouly not, the captian of my team for 13 seasons was a Swede, and he is one of my all time favourite players. I also said that I don't 100% agree with everything he says, but I still enjoy what he has to say. He has an opinion and he voices it, it's not always right but at least he has the balls to say what he wants. Yes he is getting older and senile and losing his way, but I still tune in every week to hear what he has to say. I'm not saying that everybody has to like him, but to hate him because he voices his opinion is stupid.

I think I kind of feel the same way. He's definitely right about certain aspects of the game (i.e. touch icing) but every now and then he says something completely idiotic. Why did the Leafs fans give Sundin a standing ovation?

"Because Canadians hate Canadians!"

Cujo was so bad last night.

4 goals allowed on 9 shots. But Pogge almost saved the day, he played great.

Now hopefully the Leafs lose to Boston tonight and the Sabres beat the Habs. Every other outcome tonight I couldn't really care about.

Ok me saying that I don't care about other outcomes was a lie.

Games that I care about (from a Leafs fan persepctive):

LA vs. Nashville - i hope that this goes to OT and LA wins.

Philly vs. Islanders - go Isles in regulation.

Ottawa vs. Atlanta - too tuff to pick a winner here, so I hope it goes to OT and then I don't care which team wins.

Cloumbus vs. St. Louis - as much as i'd like to see the BJs make the playoffs, we need the Blues to win this one.

Phoenix vs. Calgary - go Yotes go!

Other games tonight:

Carolina vs. New Jersey - should be a good game, the devils are slipping a little lately.

Florida vs. Dallas - go 3 point game! but I shall cheer for a Dallas win, I know Steve Ott.

Minnesota vs. Calgary - Minnesota really needs this win, in the worst kind of way. But so does Calgary. should be a good game, I dont really care who wins.

One game already played today:

New York Rangers 3 Pittsburgh Penguins 4.

Oh man Cam Ward what a sick sick man you are. Very entertaining match against the Devils tonight. Both goalies were outstanding, yet Cam got the better of his idol in the end. And how lovely was that. We recorded our sixth win in a row, and I am really starting to believe in this as we play stellar in every game.

Anyway, the Devils got a late first period goal after an odd man rush. We got of to a slow start, but in the second we completely took over the show. Or, Brodeur did. What saves. I honestly thought he would get away with that shutout. We started the third furiously and peppered the net, and eventually Samsonov got one in late. Even later, Ruutu scored a PPG and we snapped their 11-game homestreak and extended their losing streak to five. No, we don't break losing streaks anymore.

Brodeur stopped 46 shots, and some of them were just spectacular. Ward stopped 31 and kept us in the game with sprawling dives and even glove save with the back turned. Awesome game indeed. I should probably add that we were lucky not to get a penalty during the last seconds as Babs pulled out the oldest trick from the book and silently poked a Devil in the skate with his stick without getting called.

Otherwise, crazy game up in Toronto. 7-5 Boston as we speak. Flyers bounce back to win against the Isles which was not very cool at all. Especially when they were down by two. Freakin Habs are tied with the Slugs at the moment, and God I hope they lose. Pitts beat the Rangers earlier today, which is an acceptable result for us. I hope Avery cried.

I have honestly started believing that we might make the playoffs now. We have been awfully consistent during the last stretch, snapping streaks, getting our PP going, and even Ward has been fantastic for 24 consecutive games. Now we have four days off, so we'll see how the standings turn out after that stretch, and take it from there.

GO CANES!

Canes will make the playoffs, don't you worry.

As you hinted at, it was a weird night in Toronto. Ponikarovsky has been crazy lately, 11 points in his last 6 games. He is now proving to the world that he can play without Sundin and Antropov. Set a career high in goals this year with 23, and still 7 games left to add to that. In the end I am happy that we lost and other teams won, but I feel bad for Pogge. He comes in relief last night and plays great, gets the start tonight and lets in 6 goals. But he is still young and that is only his 6th start of the season.

oh and the Minnesota Wild are boring as hell to watch.

At least those years you guys were playing really really good. Winning divisions and winning rounds in the playoffs. Minnesota is straight up boring. They suck the life out of the crowd.

6-1... ouch, not a good time to slip up. I called them to win the conference a week and a half ago, good thing I didn't bet on it.

Leafs beat the Flyers tonight by a score of 3-2. Cujo is really picking a bad time to play some of his best hockey... career win #454 for him tonight...

After two sloppy periods, the Canes came out with another huge third period and had the Rangers on their knees for the entirety of that one. Brindy continues to score, and we set a franchise-record with ten straight W's at home. We have also won seven in regulation. Even though he had to face 38 shots, Ward looked incredibly calm, and I think if he continues like this, he will definitely take a step up and dwell among the top 10 goalies in the NHL. However, my three fav players scored today, as Staal got one, LaRose got two, and Brindy the last one. Great game even though we took a frustrating bunch of penalties just to make it a little more exciting. Luckily the Rangers' PP equals shit.

Elsewhere, the Habs played with the Isles tonight winning 5-1 climbing past the Rangers to seventh place in the Eastern conference. They have been looking sharp during their recent couple of games, as they've got their big guys going strong again. Let's hope Toronto finishes them off along with a win against Philly tomorrow.

Oh and: Just watched the sneak-peak for a day in the life of Chad LaRose..

This was priceless:

LaRose to Avery: "Go back to your make-up and handbag, you're a joke!"

I signed Omark in my NHL 09 dynasty. He plays for the Marlies and has had 2 good season in a row.

And for anybody who follows the NCAA college hockey, the Leafs have been raping it. Signed 2 players in the last week, Tyler Bozak being the lastest and most popular. 25 teams were interested in Bozak and the Leafs got him. He wont play until next season. The other player they signed was Christian Hanson (son of Dave Hanson, from the 3 Slapshot movies). Christian makes his NHL debut tonight against the Flyers.

Yeah I watched that one.. Weird game. But fun, although I'd take a Toronto-win there.. Atlanta beat Florida woo... Where's out Panthers fan?

The big test for the Canes will come against the ass-whopping Penguins tonight. If we can win this, I'll go ahead and say that we will make the playoffs... If not, and Montreal beats Toronto, then we'll struggle a bit. IF they can keep up their great defense and Ward stays sharp, I hope we can limit both Malkin and Crosby.

If out first line can get of their asses in the first two periods andcome out big, maybe we'll get it and extend to eleven straight at home and eight in regulation. I frankly don't think that a huge third that has been out trademark in the last couple of games, will do it.

Will not catch this game btw, as I will be busy drinking alcohol.

GO CANES GO!
