Because the concept of beauty and attitude towards exhibitionism varies for the genders. It may not be fair, but it's true.
Not so sure I agree with this... beauty is a subjective thing. Exhibitionism is exhibitionism.
But it acquires a different meaning for either the guy or the girl.
Which? the aesthetics of beauty or exhibitionism?
For instance, a male can admit to finding another male to be good looking, but that doesn't equate to sexual attraction... beauty is subjective and multi-facteted.
Exhibitionism is pretty much a straight-forward concept.
But the reception and sociological meanings of it do change.
You mean exhibitionism?
Perhaps, but should they? The social boundaries seperating gender are becoming more and more blurred as time moves on.
Both males and females are doing it to have their egos stroked or to garner attention.
Social constructs are variable, both temporally and geographically, while the underlying cause of someone getting off on displaying themselves to strangers , while it may vary a bit, usually has something to do with ego fulfillment. as does everything, if you get right down to it: even Mother Theresa was a selfish person; she got whatever sense of gratification she got out of dedicating her life to charity. While there are acts of complete selflessness, the impetus for most acts are ego driven.
Still, this is all by the wayside. If someone wants to post their pics on a website, I really don't care, like I said: knock yourself out; this whole thing has been blown waaayyy out of proportion.
What the hell, there's something in this world for everybody.
